Today, we\u2019re watching a video essay that looks at the cultural influence of The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari.&lt;\/em&gt;\n<\/code><\/pre>\n<hr\/>\n<p>Unless you\u2019ve had the pleasure of attending an \u201cintro to film\u201d class, you\u2019ve likely\u00a0<em>heard\u00a0<\/em>that <em><strong>The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari<\/strong>\u00a0<\/em>is important \u2026 but it might not be totally clear\u00a0<em>why<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>No shame here. Older films can be a big hurdle for modern audiences. Especially when they are over a century old. Let\u2019s be honest, at some point in every film lover\u2019s career, you stop being an \u201caudience member\u201d and become a bonafide historian.
