Now, it looks like the company is busy testing a Supercharger membership ahead of its launch later this year.<\/p>\n<p>The Netherlands was the first area where Superchargers became available to non-Tesla owners. Then\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/cleantechnica.com\/2022\/02\/01\/tesla-opens-more-superchargers-in-europe-to-other-ev-drivers\/\">the network opened in Europe<\/a>,\u00a0where Superchargers use the standard CCS plug. However, things are taking a little longer stateside, although we\u2019re starting to see signs of things to come.<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019ve heard that Tesla has a new \u201cMagic Dock\u201d plug it\u2019ll deploy throughout the United States, making it easier for any EV to use a Supercharger station. Then, according to the latest leaks this week, those who don\u2019t own a Tesla will need a Supercharger membership, and they\u2019ll be able to charge up easily.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">BREAKING: <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Tesla?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@Tesla<\/a> has launched Supercharger membership packages for Non-Tesla EV owners.<\/p>\n<p>There are two plans:<br \/>\u2022\u00a0Pay Per Use: Pay as you go, access to Supercharger network<br \/>\u2022\u00a0Membership: $0.99\/month (in the US), access to Supercharger network, lower price per kWh <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/muVBv3pZbd\">pic.twitter.com\/muVBv3pZbd<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Sawyer Merritt \ud83d\udcc8\ud83d\ude80 (@SawyerMerritt) <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/SawyerMerritt\/status\/1559715573898117121?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">August 17, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>It looks like Tesla briefly launched its new Supercharger membership late last night, or it <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>eared in the app by mistake. The option is no longer available, but the underpinnings are there as the automaker is likely testing the system ahead of its nationwide release.<\/p>\n<p>As you can see, other EV owners can pay per use and only pay Tesla to use a Supercharger when necessary. Or, frequent users can sign up for a membership that\u2019ll give a discounted price per kWh of battery power.<\/p>\n<p>Also, we\u2019re assuming the $0.99 per month membership fee is just a placeholder inside the app, as it\u2019ll almost certainly cost a little more than that to become a member. Either way, we probably don\u2019t have to wait long as the company is clearly getting ready to release the program.<\/p>\n<p>For what it\u2019s worth, Tesla\u2019s ever-expanding Supercharger network is already busy and congested here in the United States. Depending on the location, some Tesla owners wait for a stall to open before they can plug in the vehicle. With Tesla opening these stations up to all EVs, things are about to get busier.<\/p>\n<p>Tesla will need to rapidly expand its Supercharger network to handle the influx of vehicles that\u2019ll start using its chargers in the future. By opening its network of chargers to other EV owners, it\u2019ll get access to some much-needed federal funds to continue to expand.
