The movie revolves around Buster Moon (McConaughey), a performing arts-loving koala who owns a struggling theater. Buster is willing to do anything to save his beloved theater, which is why he holds a singing contest for unknown talents from the city, but due to a mistake made by his clumsy secretary, the contest prize totals a sum of money that he does not have.
