Richard Blumenthal discussed the issue with Zatko this week, sources said.<\/figcaption><figcaption><span class=\"credit\">REUTERS<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module alignleft\">\n<\/aside>\n<p>In an 84-page complaint Zatko, a famed hacker widely known as \u201cMudge,\u201d made numerous claims and alleged\u00a0Twitter\u00a0prioritized user growth over reducing spam, with executives eligible to win individual bonuses of as much as $10 million tied to increases in daily users, and nothing explicitly for cutting spam, according to documents relayed by congressional investigators.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Twitter\u00a0has labeled the complaint a \u201cfalse narrative.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Senate Judiciary Committee will investigate this issue further with a full committee hearing this work period, and take further steps as needed to get to the bottom of these alarming allegations,\u201d said committee chair Sen. Richard Durbin and top Republican member Sen. Chuck Grassley.<\/p>\n<p>Blumenthal, a Democrat on the Senate Commerce Committee and the Judiciary Committee with a keen interest in Big Tech, wrote in a letter to Federal Trade Commission chair Lina Khan: \u201cAccording to disclosures and evidence provided by\u00a0Peiter\u00a0\u2018Mudge\u2019 Zatko, a highly-respected cybersecurity expert who served as\u00a0Twitter\u2019s Security Lead from 2020 to 2022,\u00a0Twitter\u00a0executives allegedly failed to address significant security vulnerabilities, neglected the mishandling of personal data, and ignored known privacy risks to users for more than a decade.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Blumenthal called for an FTC investigation in the letter.\n                        <\/p><\/div>\n<blockquote><p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">If you liked the article, do not forget to share it with your friends.
