\n The finale of Monday\u2019s Democratic National Convention may have been the keynote speech from Michelle Obama \u2014 but the encore was an oddball music performance from \u201cPose\u201d star Billy Porter and rock legend Stephen Stills.<\/p>\n

Most cable outlets cut away from the convention just moments after the former first lady\u2019s speech \u2014 before Porter and Stills began a rendition of Buffalo Springfield\u2019s hit protest song \u201cFor What It\u2019s Worth.\u201d<\/p>\n

But for those who experience the surreal performance, reactions were mixed.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is the corniest bullsh\u2013 I\u2019ve ever seen in my life,\u201d one Twitter<\/a> user wrote about the spectacle.<\/p>\n

The DNC version stayed true to its 1966 roots as the music video flashed recent scenes of protest playing out across the country. The video was edited in a style more reminiscent of 80s cable access television than a modern day music video.<\/p>\n

As Porter sang \u201cWhat a field day for the heat, a thousand people in the street,\u201d an image of a Black Lives Matter protest emerged behind him in a repetitious pattern that mimicked Andy Wharhol prints.<\/p>\n

Pictures of athletes kneeling \u2014 a popular form of protest against racial injustice \u2014 were also included in the video.<\/p>\n

Reactions to the music video were a mix of app<\/a>roval, amusement and confusion.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Billy Porter\/Stephen Stills thing is literally the only thing I\u2019ve enjoyed in quarantine that isn\u2019t a carbohydrate,\u201d wrote one woman on twitter.<\/p>\n

Another Twitter user was left confused by the performance. \u201cI\u2019m sorry, someone needs to explain the Billy Porter thing\u2026I don\u2019t get it,\u201d the man said.\n <\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
