She has thus been permitted to continue in her role as director of operations and special projects.<\/p>\n<p>Sources also told Reuters that Zilis and Musk have continued working together in the months since the birth of the twins. Most recently, Musk dispatched Zilis to meet with Thomas Oxley, the CEO of Neuralink\u2019s competitor, Synchron.<\/p>\n<p>Musk, Zilis, and Oxley have spoken about Neuralink potentially investing in Synchron, according to Reuters.<\/p>\n<p>Zilis and spokespeople for Musk and Neuralink did not respond to requests for comment. <\/p>\n<p>Musk, who has spoken frequently about declining birth rates and the threat they pose to humanity, has confirmed that he is the father. <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/article\/elon-musk-dating-relationship-history-girlfriends-wives\/?_ga=2.245503364.1839704260.1661513031-1212912648.1634415321\">He has nine children<\/a> with <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/article\/elon-musk-children\/?_ga=2.245503364.1839704260.1661513031-1212912648.1634415321\">three different women.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The twins were born a month before Musk and Canadian pop singer Grimes welcomed their second child, a baby girl, via a surrogate.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module alignleft\">\n<\/aside>\n<p>In April, Zilis and Musk petitioned a Texas court to allow the children to \u201chave their father\u2019s last name and contain their mother\u2019s last name as part of their middle name,\u201d\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.businessinsider.com\/elon-musk-shivon-zilis-secret-twins-neuralink-tesla\">Business Insider reported<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>The request was <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>roved by a judge in May.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDoing my best to help the underpopulation crisis,\u201d Musk quipped after Insider reported the birth of the twins.<\/p>\n<p>In another tweet, Musk wrote: \u201cA collapsing birth rate is the biggest danger civilization faces by far.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Experts on corporate governance who were interviewed by Reuters were divided as to whether Musk violated ethical boundaries by having children with Zilis.<\/p>\n<p>Neuralink\u2019s own employee handbook prohibits \u201cpersonal relationships\u201d and \u201cclose personal friendships\u201d between employees and their managers to whom they report.<\/p>\n<p>But the arrangement between Musk and Zilis is an unusual one, the experts told Reuters.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/08\/elon-musk-shivon-zilis-twins-ivf-03.jpg?w=1024\" alt=\"Musk, the Tesla and SpaceX CEO, has nine children with three different women.\" class=\"wp-image-23625085\" srcset=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/08\/elon-musk-shivon-zilis-twins-ivf-03.jpg?quality=75&amp;strip=all&amp;w=1536 1536w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/08\/elon-musk-shivon-zilis-twins-ivf-03.jpg?quality=75&amp;strip=all 1024w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/08\/elon-musk-shivon-zilis-twins-ivf-03.jpg?quality=75&amp;strip=all&amp;w=512 512w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\"\/><figcaption>Musk, the Tesla and SpaceX CEO, has nine children with three different women.<\/figcaption><figcaption><span class=\"credit\">Getty Images<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cWhatever lawyer wrote this language [in the company code of conduct] did not contemplate this situation,\u201d said Nell Minow, vice chair of corporate governance consultancy ValueEdge Advisors.<\/p>\n<p>Minow said that this case looked to \u201cfall between the cracks\u201d of the spirit of the policy, which aims to avoid conflicts of interest.<\/p>\n<p>Neuralink requires employees engaged in any sort of relationship that could create a conflict of interest to report it to the \u201cpeople operations manager\u201d so the company can decide what steps to take to mitigate potential problems.\n                        <\/p><\/div>\n<blockquote><p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">If you liked the article, do not forget to share it with your friends.
