The interview was <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.businessinsider.com\/jk-rowling-declined-participate-hbo-harry-potter-reunion-special-2022-8?utm_source=feedly&amp;utm_medium=webfeeds\">reported by Insider.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cI decided I didn\u2019t want to do it. I thought it was about the films more than the books, quite rightly. That was what the anniversary was about.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Rowling, who became a billionaire after she wrote the best-selling seven-volume <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/watch-movies-tv-seriess\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"8\" title=\"Watch Movies &amp; TV Series\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">series<\/a> of children\u2019s books that was later adapted to a blockbuster movie franchise, has been a subject of controversy on <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">social media<\/a> over her stance on transgender women.<\/p>\n<p>In 2020, Rowling penned an essay defending her previous comments wading into the hot-button issue of gender status and transgender people.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\">\n<span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center; display: block;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"J.K.
