It\u2019s often evoked intentionally to draw negative attention to a particular project or business. One of crypto\u2019s most enduring legacies has been the constant FUD surrounding Tether, whose USDT stablecoin commands a market capitalization of nearly $68 billion. Whether intentional or not, The Wall Street Journal ran a story this week claiming that Tether was on the edge of technical insolvency and that it wouldn\u2019t take much to push the stablecoin issuer into financial peril. Of course, Tether didn\u2019t take it lying down and im<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">media<\/a>tely issued a response to what it considered to be a \u201cdisinformation\u201d campaign by the Journal.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Regardless of which side of the debate you\u2019re on, it\u2019s becoming clear that there is a strong media bias against Tether. In fact, the Journal ran a story a few months ago claiming that more hedge funds were betting against the stablecoin around the same time that the crypto market as a whole was plunging. <\/p>\n<p>This week\u2019s Crypto Biz <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/news\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"2\" title=\"News\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">news<\/a>letter dissects the Tether controversy and gives you the latest information on the state of venture capital and nonfungible tokens (NFTs).<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Tether_responds_to_Wall_Street_Journal_%E2%80%98disinformation\"><\/span>Tether responds to Wall Street Journal \u2018disinformation\u2019<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>In an article published on Saturday, The Wall Street Journal claimed that even a 0.3% decline in Tether\u2019s assets could deem the stablecoin issuer \u201ctechnically insolvent.\u201d The Journal was referring to Tether\u2019s most recent disclosure on its website, which showed that assets only narrowly exceeded its liabilities. Tether cl<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ed back and accused the Journal of engaging in unnecessary FUD. \u201cThe article seeks to discredit the work that Tether has put into transparent and honest communication to the public,\u201d Tether said. \u201cPerhaps the WSJ has confused Tether with some of its competitors.\u201d If you\u2019re concerned about Tether FUD, don\u2019t sweat it. This week, Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian announced that his venture firm Seven Seven Six is looking is raising $177.6 million to invest in various crypto and blockchain startups. \u201cThis is the best time to buy if you\u2019re really long on the industry. It\u2019s on sale. Everything is on sale,\u201d said Katelin Holloway, Seven Seven Six\u2019s founding partner. If recent history is any indication, Seven Seven Six will likely be successful in meeting its investment target. Expect more big funding stories from the world of blockchain.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Meta_announces_Facebook_and_Instagram_users_can_post_NFTs_from_digital_wallets\"><\/span>Meta announces Facebook and Instagram users can post NFTs from digital wallets<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Mark Zuckerberg\u2019s Meta couldn\u2019t launch its own stablecoin, but the social media giant is still embracing blockchain <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/technology\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"4\" title=\"Technology\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">technology<\/a> in other ways. Effective immediately, Facebook\u2019s roughly 2.9 billion users will be able to share NFTs by connecting their digital wallets directly to the social media app. The announcement came less than a month after Meta enabled Instagram NFT integration in over 100 countries. It\u2019s not entirely clear how Meta will make money off its NFT integration. Umar Farooq, who heads JPMorgan\u2019s digital asset division, recently told a panel that most crypto projects are \u201cjunk\u201d and not worth pursuing as investments. \u201cI mean, with the exception of, I would say, a few dozen tokens, everything else that has been mentioned is either noise or, frankly, is just gonna go away,\u201d he told the Monetary Authority of Singapore\u2019s Green Shots Seminar. I think most investors would agree that most crypto projects don\u2019t have a future.
