Washington Field Office as \u201cpoint man\u201d to manage whistleblower Tony Bobulinski, the first son\u2019s former business partner, before the 2020 election \u2014 but he suppressed his damning revelations, sources say.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Bobulinski spent over five hours secretly being interviewed by the FBI on Oct. 23, 2020, about his inside knowledge of then-presidential candidate Joe Biden\u2019s involvement in his son\u2019s business deals with China.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The previous day he had revealed in a press conference that Joe Biden was the \u201cBig Guy\u201d due to get a 10% cut of a lucrative joint venture with Chinese energy firm CEFC, according to an email found on Hunter\u2019s abandoned laptop.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Bobulinski gave the FBI the contents of three cellphones containing encrypted messages between Hunter and his business partners, along with emails and financial documents detailing the Biden family\u2019s corrupt influence peddling operation in foreign countries during Joe\u2019s vice presidency.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>But his evidence <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ears to have fallen into the same black hole at the FBI as Hunter\u2019s laptop, never to be seen again.\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_tale_he_told\"><\/span>The tale he told\u00a0<span Brenner\/REUTERS<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Bobulinski\u2019s FBI interview came the week after The Post published material from the laptop, including the \u201cBig Guy\u201d message and an email from a Ukrainian energy company executive thanking Hunter for organizing a 2015 meeting in Washington with then-VP Biden.\u00a0<\/p>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module alignright\">\n    <\/aside>\n<p>On the day Bobulinski went to the FBI\u2019s Washington Field Office, 11 days before the 2020 presidential election, he was told not to walk in the front door, but to drive into an underground parking garage at the back of the nondescript eight-storey building in northwest DC, one mile from FBI headquarters.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>He was met by James Dawson, then-Special Agent in Charge of the Criminal and Cyber Division, and FBI Supervisory Special agent Giulio Arseni.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>They turned him over to two younger agents, William Novak and Garrett Churchill, who conducted the videotaped interview and provided a receipt for Bobulinski\u2019s digital data.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>He told them about the work Hunter, his uncle Jim Biden, and partners James Gilliar and Rob Walker did during Joe\u2019s vice presidency, in 2015 and 2016, using the Biden name to help CEFC expand into Oman, Romania, Georgia, Kazakhstan and beyond. He told them about Hunter\u2019s lucrative personal relationship with CEFC chairman Ye Jianming at the time the company was brokering China\u2019s $9 billion acquisition of the Russian state oil giant Rosneft. Nor was Bobulinski brought before a Delaware grand jury investigating Hunter.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Dawson moved to the field office in Little Rock, Ark., last July.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Thibault retired from the FBI last week, amid an investigation by the Office of Special Counsel into his anti-Trump <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">social media<\/a> posts, and after Republican senators made public allegations that he buried Hunter Biden material which would have damaged Joe\u2019s candidacy.\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"%E2%80%98Improperly_discredited\"><\/span>\u2018Improperly discredited\u2019\u00a0<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Whistleblowers alleged to Senator Chuck Grassley that, in the same month as Bobulinski\u2019s FBI interview, then-Assistant Special Agent in Charge Thibault ordered an investigation into Hunter Biden\u2019s alleged \u201ccriminal financial and related activity\u201d be closed.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn October 2020, an avenue of additional derogatory Hunter Biden reporting was ordered closed at the direction of ASAC Thibault,\u201d Grassley wrote six weeks ago in a letter to FBI Director Christopher Wray and Attorney <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/general\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"3\" title=\"General\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">General<\/a> Merrick Garland.\u00a0<\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignright size-nypost-medium-post\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"322\" height=\"386\" src=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/09\/hunter-joe-biden-3.jpg?w=322\" alt=\"Timothy Thibault\" class=\"wp-image-23736387\" srcset=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/09\/hunter-joe-biden-3.jpg?quality=75&amp;strip=all&amp;w=644 644w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/09\/hunter-joe-biden-3.jpg?quality=75&amp;strip=all&amp;w=483 483w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/09\/hunter-joe-biden-3.jpg?quality=75&amp;strip=all&amp;w=322 322w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/09\/hunter-joe-biden-3.jpg?quality=75&amp;strip=all&amp;w=161 161w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/09\/hunter-joe-biden-3.jpg?quality=75&amp;strip=all 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 322px) 100vw, 322px\"\/><figcaption>Timothy Thibault recently retired. <\/figcaption><figcaption><span class=\"credit\">FEDERAL BUREAU OF INVESTIGATION <\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s been alleged that the FBI HQ team suggested to the FBI agents that the information was at risk of disinformation; however, according to allegations, [it] was either verified or verifiable via criminal search warrants . . . Thibault allegedly ordered the matter closed without providing a valid reason, as required by FBI guidelines [and] it\u2019s alleged that FBI officials, including ASAC Thibault, subsequently attempted to improperly mark the matter in FBI systems so that it could not be opened in the future.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Grassley also alleged that FBI Supervisory Intelligence Analyst Brian Auten had opened an assessment in August 2020, which was used by an FBI Headquarters team to \u201cimproperly discredit negative Hunter Biden information as disinformation and caused investigative activity to cease . . . Verified and verifiable derogatory information on Hunter Biden was falsely labeled as disinformation.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Thibault denied Grassley\u2019s allegations last week. A statement from his pro-bono lawyer said he \u201cdid not supervise the investigation of Hunter Biden which . . . is being handled by the Baltimore Field Office.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn particular, Mr. Thibault was not involved in any decisions related to any laptop that may be at issue in that investigation and he did not seek to close the investigation.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>But Thibault\u2019s statement omits any explanation of what he did with Bobulinski\u2019s information.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Did he give it to the FBI\u2019s Baltimore field office, which was assisting Delaware US Attorney David Weiss\u2019 four-year probe of Hunter for alleged tax evasion, money laundering and foreign agent violations?\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>If he did, then why has Bobulinski never testified before the grand jury convened by Weiss last year?\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Other business partners of Hunter testified and at least one was asked the identity of \u201cthe Big Guy,\u201d according to a source.\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"A_credible_source\"><\/span>A credible source\u00a0<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/09\/Biden-1-2.jpg?w=1024\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-23736460\" srcset=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/09\/Biden-1-2.jpg?quality=75&amp;strip=all&amp;w=2048 2048w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/09\/Biden-1-2.jpg?quality=75&amp;strip=all&amp;w=1536 1536w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/09\/Biden-1-2.jpg?quality=75&amp;strip=all 1024w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/09\/Biden-1-2.jpg?quality=75&amp;strip=all&amp;w=512 512w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\"\/><figcaption>President Joe Biden with his son Hunter Biden waves as they leave Holy Spirit Catholic Church.<\/figcaption><figcaption><span class=\"credit\">Manuel Balce Ceneta\/AP<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>It seems inexplicable that Bobulinski \u2014 who met twice with Joe Biden in 2017 over the CEFC deal, and provided information which corroborates damning material on Hunter\u2019s laptop \u2014 is not a star witness, especially since the FBI has been in possession of the laptop since December 2019, and knows it is authentic.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>It is not as if Bobulinski is not highly credible. He is a decorated former Naval officer with top secret security clearances from the National Security Agency and the Department of Energy. A successful businessman, he has donated to both sides of politics.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In the interests of national security, it was the FBI\u2019s duty to investigate credible evidence suggesting the future president may have been compromised by China via millions of dollars paid to his family.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Even if the FBI was reluctant, after its 2016 Hillary email debacle, to take action that could be deemed political during an election campaign, there is no excuse for not following up with Bobulinski afterward.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The FBI\u2019s failure to do so amounts to interference-by-omission in the 2020 election.<\/p><\/div>\n<blockquote><p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">If you liked the article, do not forget to share it with your friends.
