That\u2019s what former Brooklyn-Staten Island Congressman Max Rose has told the left-wing Working Families Party about running on its ballot line in his rematch with Rep. Nicole Malliotakis.<\/p>\n<p>This time around, the Democrat, who is vying to reclaim his old NY-11 seat from the woman who ousted him two years ago, won\u2019t accept help from the lefty political party despite having taken its ballot line in the past.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s clear that WFP and I are not aligned on every issue due to my opposition to defunding the police and belief that bipartisanship is still possible and the best way to govern \u2014 which is why they endorsed my primary endorsement,\u201d he told The Post.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo, I will not be taking their line or their endorsement.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Rose handily defeated his Democratic <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">social<\/a>ist primary foe, fellow veteran Brittany DeBarros Ramos, securing 75% of the vote in the Aug. 23 primary election borne out of the state\u2019s controversial redistricting mess.<\/p>\n<p>While WFP-endorsed Ramos could\u2019ve run on the party\u2019s line against Rose as a third-party candidate, the\u00a0WFP has since filed a declination to remove her from the ballot.<\/p>\n<p>That means Rose could have picked up an endorsement from the WFP and run on its ballot line in addition to being the official Democratic Party nominee \u2014 in hopes that he would attract enough additional votes.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"682\" src=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/09\/max-rose-03.jpg?w=1024\" alt=\"Rep. Wade and removing the ban on New York\u2019s concealed carry laws.<\/p>\n<p>But Rose\u2019s chances in the district that<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/newyork.redistrictingandyou.org\/?districtType=cd&amp;propA=current_2012&amp;propB=congress_specialmastercorrected_20220604&amp;selected=-74.156,40.598#%26map=8.45\/40.747\/-74.158\"> favored former President Donald Trump<\/a> in 2020 \u2014 scoring 53.8% of the vote compared to former Vice President Joe Biden\u2019s 46.2% \u2014 are likely too weak to score a victory.<\/p>\n<p>Initially, Democrats redrew NY-11\u2019s lines to favor Rose, adding in liberal parts of Brooklyn like Park Slope.<\/p>\n<p>But the courts struck down the plan, determining the party illegally gerrymandered New York\u2019s districts to favor Democrats.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"682\" src=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/09\/max-rose-02.jpg?w=1024\" alt=\"Rose said he does not agree with the Working Family Party on defunding the police.\" class=\"wp-image-23741255\" srcset=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/09\/max-rose-02.jpg?quality=75&amp;strip=all&amp;w=1535 1536w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/09\/max-rose-02.jpg?quality=75&amp;strip=all 1024w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/09\/max-rose-02.jpg?quality=75&amp;strip=all&amp;w=512 512w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\"\/><figcaption>Rose said he does not agree with the Working Families Party on defunding the police.<\/figcaption><figcaption><span class=\"credit\">AP Photo\/Mary Altaffer<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>A special master then redrew the district\u2019s borders by removing the pro-Democrat parts of Brooklyn and\u00a0 keeping it largely the same \u2014 likely being pro-Malliotakis and making Rose the underdog in the race.<\/p>\n<p>Plus some New York Democrats \u2014 like Mayor Eric Adams \u2014 have tried to steer away from the defund movement in light of the city\u2019s crime wave.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s good to see Max do the right thing for once after he embraced the WFP\u2019s anti-taxpayer anti-police line in 2018,\u201d Malliotakis told The Post in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNow, if he would also renounce the endorsements he received from the council members who voted to defund the NYPD and state legislators who voted for the disastrous bail law, we might actually believe he was sincere.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>While WFP spokesman Ravi Batra confirmed to The Post there have been preliminary talks with Rose\u2019s campaign, he said the decision \u2014 for now \u2014 is to keep the line blank.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRight now our plan is not to put anyone on the line,\u201d he told The Post, explaining the party will keep the line blank \u201cso there is no third-party candidate in what is going to be a competitive race.\u201d\n                        <\/p><\/div>\n<blockquote><p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">If you liked the article, do not forget to share it with your friends.
