You also need to look at how the video doorbell is charged. Do you need to bring the entire unit inside to charge? A basic piece of pine scrap sized around 4 inches wide, 6 inches tall, and a half inch thick or so, painted or stained to match your home, would be a perfectly serviceable \u201cbase\u201d to screw your video doorbell\u2019s original plate into. Then you just use some tape to mount the scrap wood base where you\u2019d like it and you\u2019re in business.<\/p>\n<p>The DIY base plate approach also has an added benefit.
