\n A Minnesota state house candidate declared \u201cBlue lives ain\u2019t s\u2013t\u201d outside the home of a police union chief in an expletive-laden speech within earshot of children, video shows.<\/p>\n

John Thompson, the Democratic Farmer Labor (DFL) candidate for District 67A, apologized after facing backlash for shouting the profanities outside Minneapolis Police Federation president Bob Kroll\u2019s home in Hugo, WCCO reported.<\/p>\n

\u201cI want to make a positive difference, and my comments on Saturday were not helpful,\u201d Thompson wrote in a Facebook<\/a> post Sunday.<\/p>\n

Thompson, who won his primary last week, added, \u201cInflammatory rhetoric is not how I want to address the important issues we\u2019re facing, and I apologize.\u201d<\/p>\n

Video shows him shouting choice words into a microphone at neighbors who supported police, WCCO reported. Some of the clips also show children near the rally.<\/p>\n

\u201cCome on over here with your \u2018Blue Lives Matter\u2019 sign. Blue lives ain\u2019t s\u2014, and if people in Hugo don\u2019t support black people, f\u2014 Hugo,\u201d Thompson could be heard saying.<\/p>\n

Ken Martin, the state\u2019s DFL chairman, issued a statement saying the party doesn\u2019t condone Thompson\u2019s rhetoric, the outlet reported.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m grateful for the work John is doing to combat systemic racism, and I\u2019m glad that he recognizes yesterday\u2019s rhetoric was inflammatory, hurtful, and does not help move our state forward in the fight for justice,\u201d Martin said.\n <\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
