Over the next few months, the scope of our plans will become clear.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In a post this July, Davies <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.jeopardy.com\/jbuzz\/news-events\/note-jeopardy-ep-michael-davies-new-hosts-and-new-initiatives\">outlined some of those plans<\/a>, saying that he and his fellow producers were going to air their favorite episodes from the past season during summer re-runs, the <em>Jeopardy!<\/em> website would start hosting three-minute recaps of each episode, and the producers would be hosting a podcast called <em>Inside Jeopardy!<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>And last month, Davies announced a small but meaningful change: that Bialik would thank announcer Johnny Gilbert at the start of each episode while looking right at the camera, instead of addressing her thanks to an imaginary Gilbert off-screen. (The longtime <em>Jeopardy!<\/em> announcer records his intros from his home studio, not from the set of the game show.)<\/p>\n<p>So, who is this man with all the ideas? Here\u2019s what to know about Davies.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Jeopardy_creator_Merv_Griffin_gave_Davies_his_big_break\"><\/span><em>Jeopardy!<\/em> creator Merv Griffin gave Davies his big break<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>In <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.jeopardy.com\/jbuzz\/behind-scenes\/note-jeopardy-ep-michael-davies\">a <em>J!Buzz<\/em> blog post<\/a> from last December, Davies, then the interim executive producer of <em>Jeopardy!<\/em>, told fans that he met the late Merv Griffin, creator of both <em>Jeopardy!<\/em> and <em>Wheel of Fortune<\/em>, more than 30 years prior. When Davies was 24 \u2014 and working as an assistant tennis pro in Florida as he plotted a career in TV writing \u2014 he got a job as a development associate at Merv Griffin Enterprises.<\/p>\n<p>Davies recounted one of his first days at work, when he met Griffin for a poolside lunch at the Beverly Hilton, the Beverly Hills hotel that Griffin had purchased in 1987. \u201cWhen the waiter came over and said, \u2018May I take your order, sir?\u2019 Merv cooed, \u2018Ooooohhh\u2019 in his signature baritone, and made a note in a small, leather-bound book,\u201d Davies wrote. \u201cSeveral months later, I saw the phrase re<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ear as a puzzle on <em>Wheel of Fortune<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Davies_is_the_founder_of_the_production_company_Embassy_Row\"><\/span>Davies is the founder of the production company Embassy Row<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<blockquote class=\"instagram-media\" style=\"background: #FFF; border: 0; border-radius: 3px; box-shadow: 0 0 1px 0 rgba(0,0,0,0.5),0 1px 10px 0 rgba(0,0,0,0.15); margin: 1px; max-width: 540px; min-width: 326px; padding: 0; width: calc(100% - 2px);\" data-instgrm-permalink=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/BcSx5FdhH0o\/?utm_source=ig_embed&amp;utm_campaign=loading\" data-instgrm-version=\"14\"><\/blockquote>\n<p>Davies is the founder and president of Embassy Row, the production company behind unscripted <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/watch-movies-tv-seriess\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"8\" title=\"Watch Movies &amp; TV Series\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">series<\/a> like <em>Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen<\/em>, <em>Talking Dead<\/em>, and the new <em>Who Wants to Be a Millionaire<\/em>. In his April blog post, Davies said that the support of his colleagues \u201cmeans that I have the resources and people to continue to run and build Embassy Row in New York and L.A., and all of its productions\u201d while executive-producing <em>Jeopardy!<\/em>.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"He_also_co-hosts_a_popular_podcast_and_a_TV_show_about_soccer\"><\/span>He also co-hosts a popular podcast and a TV show about soccer<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>With friend Roger Bennett, Davies hosts the <em>Men in Blazers<\/em> podcast, which, as they explain in the podcast description, is \u201cdriven by the belief that Soccer is America\u2019s Sport of the Future. As it has been since 1972.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Davies and Bennett met at a wedding in 2006 and bonded over how miserable they were to be missing the World Cup final that day.
