\n A notorious Australian murderer who boasted to fellow inmates that he ate his victim\u2019s penis has died from cancer, a court heard Tuesday.<\/p>\n

David Kevin Loader, 59, was serving a life sentence for a 2001 murder when he died from a \u201cvery aggressive\u201d cancer earlier this year in Darwin, NT News<\/a> reported.<\/p>\n

The court heard Tuesday that his care for the killer in custody was \u201capp<\/a>ropriate and of a high standard.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u2018When people are in the care of the state, that care needs to be examined from time to time and the reasons are obvious,\u201d Coroner Greg Cavanagh told the court of the probe into the death on Jan. 11.<\/p>\n

Loader was convicted by a jury in 2004 for the murder of 64-year-old George Martin.<\/p>\n

He told cops he \u201cblanked out\u201d and then woke up to find Martin lying face up in a fire pit, Australian outlet The Age reported.<\/p>\n

He added that he did not believe Martin was clothed and spotted his knee \u201csticking out\u201d of the fire.<\/p>\n

Fellow inmates told the court that Loader bragged that he cooked and ate the man\u2019s leg and penis, the outlet reported.<\/p>\n

\u201c[He said] that he hit the person on the head with a rock, cut off his leg, put it in the fire and cooked it,\u201d one of the prisoners testified, according to the report.\n <\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
