ends of the Earth.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>While researchers and explorers are still making\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.fox7austin.com\/news\/moxie-makes-oxygen-mars-nasa-mit?taid=6315a1fd08a8f400010c9fbc\">ground-breaking discoveries<\/a>\u00a0every day in these regions, these mysterious realms of the universe are becoming more accessible to the average human.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Or, at least, the average human with tens of thousands of extra dollars.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s what expeditions to the ends of the Earth (and beyond) cost:\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Trips_to_outer_space_50000_%E2%80%93_55_million\"><\/span><strong>Trips to outer space: $50,000 \u2013 $55 million<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Once opposed to space tourism, NASA is now a supporter. \u201cLow-Earth orbit is now more accessible for more people to experience the wonders of space,\u201d tweeted NASA Administrator Bill Nelson, who was a congressman when he hitched a ride on a space shuttle decades ago.<\/p>\n<p>From the minds (and pockets) of billionaires, the big-name firms offering seats to the public include Jeff Bezos\u2019 Blue Origin, Richard Brannon\u2019s Virgin Galactic and Elon Musk\u2019s SpaceX. But here are some other options available, too:\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/worldview.space\/\"><strong>World View<\/strong><\/a>: Balloon-powered flights are expected to begin in 2024, lasting six to 12 hours each. Tickets are going for $50,000 per seat.<\/li>\n<li><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/spaceperspective.com\/\"><strong>Space Perspective<\/strong><\/a>: These \u201cluxury\u201d flights are scheduled to begin in 2024 in a patented SpaceBalloon. No blast-off here; get lifted gently, quietly into the upper atmosphere for $125,000 a seat.<\/li>\n<li><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.virgingalactic.com\/#horizontal-scroll\"><strong>Virgin Galactic<\/strong><\/a>: Offering 90-minute flights beginning in 2023, these ticket prices were hiked up to $450,000 after Branson successfully\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.fox29.com\/news\/virgin-galactic-launches-richard-branson-5-others-into-space\">launched into space himself<\/a>\u00a0last summer.<\/li>\n<li><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.blueorigin.com\/new-shepard\/reserve-a-seat\/\"><strong>Blue Origin<\/strong><\/a>: Customers go on 10-minute rides to the edge of space. Prices for a seat on the New Shepard aren\u2019t advertised. The\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2021\/10\/13\/science\/space\/blue-origin-ticket-cost.html#:~:text=Flights%20to%20orbit%20%E2%80%94%20a%20much,through%20the%20company%20Axiom%20Space\">New York Times reported<\/a>\u00a0Blue Origin sales are nearly $100 million, but it\u2019s unclear how many ticket holders that includes.<\/li>\n<li><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.spacex.com\/\"><strong>SpaceX<\/strong><\/a>: This mission offers you the experience of a true astronaut, with a week\u2019s-long stay aboard the International Space Station. Only hundreds of people successfully complete the grueling trek to the summit every year. And an average of five people reportedly die every year trying.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>For those wanting to try, the cost of training and equipment could break anyone\u2019s bank alone. The Manual, a men\u2019s wellness and lifestyle site,\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.themanual.com\/outdoors\/climbing-mount-everest-cost\/#:~:text=The%20price%20range%20for%20a,Sherpa%20support%2C%20and%20supplemental%20oxygen.\">reports a trek will cost you<\/a>\u00a0anywhere from $30,000 \u2013 $160,000 in 2022, with the average falling around $45,000.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Those who aren\u2019t fit to be mountain conquerors can still get a taste of Everest with expeditions to the base camp, which sits just under 18,000 feet above sea level.
