Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ointed U.S. Federal Reserve Board vice chair for supervision Michael Barr pledged to \u201censure that crypto activity inside banks is well regulated, based on the principle of the same risk, same activity, same regulation, regardless of the <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/technology\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"4\" title=\"Technology\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">technology<\/a> used for the activity.\u201d In Barr\u2019s opinion, people \u201cmay come to believe that they understand new products only to learn that they don\u2019t.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Michael Hsu, an acting comptroller of the currency at the annual conference of the Clearing House and Bank Policy Institute, mentioned stablecoins and the collapse of Terra (LUNA) \u2014 now renamed Terra Classic (LUNC) \u2014 as an example of crypto\u2019s disruptive potential. He also noted that the relationship between banks and fintech companies is evolving rapidly and causing \u201cde-integration\u201d in the financial sector.<\/p>\n<p>The White House Office of <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/sciencee\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"5\" title=\"Science\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Science<\/a> and Technology Policy has weighed in on the environmental and energy impact of crypto assets, focusing on their contribution to energy usage and greenhouse gas emissions. Among the broadly written recommendations are assessment and enforcement of energy reliability in light of crypto mining projects, setting energy efficiency standards and research and monitoring. <\/p>\n<p>Enforcers participated in the collective push as well. Gurbir Grewal, the enforcement director for the Securities and Exchange Commission, promised the financial regulator will continue to investigate and bring enforcement actions against crypto firms, despite the narrative of \u201cpicking winners and losers\u201d and \u201cstifling innovation.\u201d He pushed back against criticism that the Securities and Exchange Commission \u201csomehow unfairly targeted crypto\u201d in its enforcement actions. <\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Zuckerberg_is_called_to_address_the_%E2%80%98breeding_ground_of_crypto_scams_on_Facebook\"><\/span>Zuckerberg is called to address the \u2018breeding ground\u2019 of crypto scams on Facebook<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>In the United States, a group of Democratic senators has reportedly asked Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg to provide details on the <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">social media<\/a> giant\u2019s policies regarding cryptocurrency fraud. Six senators \u2014 Elizabeth Warren and Sharrod Brown, among them \u2014 called on Zuckerberg to explain actions the company may take to detect crypto scams, coordinate with law enforcement and assist victims of fraud.
