Travel\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">trip<\/a>e, Google and the Pentagon said their email inboxes and LinkedIn accounts have been inundated with messages from so-called research-and-advisory companies seeking to get information that could impact a potential acquisition of Twitter by Tesla CEO Elon Musk, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.newyorker.com\/news\/news-desk\/the-search-for-dirt-on-the-twitter-whistle-blower\"> The New Yorker reported Tuesday.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Research-and-advisory firms gather information for clients who then use the data to plan strategy relating to potential investments.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m currently working on a project regarding leadership in tech, and my client is hoping to speak to an experienced professional about a particular individual you may have worked with,\u201d\u00a0read a message sent to Marty Wasserman, a Stripe employee, on Aug. 23.<\/p>\n<p>Another Stripe worker, Dan Foster, told colleagues: \u201cI\u2019m getting inundated with paid interview requests.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The two men were invited to a \u201c45-60 minute compensated phone consultation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The messages were sent after Zatko went public with his claims against Twitter last month.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPreeeettyy sure this is regarding Mudge,\u201d\u00a0Wasserman wrote to Stripe colleagues on the internal Slack channel.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"682\" src=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/09\/Twitter-headquarters-590000.jpg?w=1024\" alt=\"Zatko has alleged that Twitter poses a threat to national security due to its lax adherance to data and privacy rules.\" class=\"wp-image-23847736\" srcset=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/09\/Twitter-headquarters-590000.jpg?quality=75&amp;strip=all&amp;w=1535 1536w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/09\/Twitter-headquarters-590000.jpg?quality=75&amp;strip=all 1024w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/09\/Twitter-headquarters-590000.jpg?quality=75&amp;strip=all&amp;w=512 512w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\"\/><figcaption>Zatko has alleged that Twitter poses a threat to national security due to its lax adherance to data and privacy rules.<\/figcaption><figcaption><span class=\"credit\">Getty Images<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cHard pass.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to The New Yorker, Wasserman was asked by an associate at AlphaSights about information that could shed light on Zatko\u2019s \u201cpersonality, leadership, style, validity, and history.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe compensate well because we know this is a difficult and confusing ask at first,\u201d the associated reportedly wrote to Wasserman.<\/p>\n<p>Jaclyn Schoof, another Stripe employee, reported receiving the same offer from AlphaSights, an information services company headquartered in London.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey said they didn\u2019t care how much it would cost them\u2026 seems really weird,\u201d she wrote to colleagues.<\/p>\n<p>Wasserman told The New Yorker he was concerned \u201cthat multiple different sources, multiple different people, multiple different companies, were all basically trying to dig up dirt on Mudge, all seemingly at the same time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy family and I are disturbed by what <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Let\u2019s out them on Twitter rn haha,\u201d Musk tweeted.<\/p>\n<p>In testimony before Congress on Tuesday, Zatko said Twitter employed an undercover Chinese agent and that the site constituted a national security threat.<\/p>\n<p>He said that Twitter did not know the alleged Chinese agent was on its payroll until the company was contacted by the FBI.<\/p>\n<p>A Twitter spokesperson said in a statement to The Post: \u201cToday\u2019s hearing only confirms that Mr. Zatko\u2019s allegations are riddled with inconsistencies and inaccuracies.\u201d\n                        <\/p><\/div>\n<p><script async src=\"\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">If you liked the article, do not forget to share it with your friends.
