And it\u2019s the nice one. <\/p>\n<div class=\"paywall\">\n       \u201cEight out of 10 users said in research that Pinterest makes them feel good versus other forms of social media,\u201d Silberman\u2019s replacement as CEO, Bill Ready, said Wednesday at a Goldman Sachs conference in San Francisco. \u201cIn a world where toxicity is driving so much of the internet, when users are ready to unplug \u2026 Where do you go when you want to be lifted up and not torn down? Pinterest has that already.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>On the same day executives from Facebook parent Meta Platforms Inc.<br \/>\n        META,<br \/>\n        <bg-quote field=\"percentchange\" format=\"0,000.00%\" channel=\"\/zigman2\/quotes\/205064656\/composite\" class=\"negative\">-1.08%<\/bg-quote><span>,<\/span><br \/>\n       Twitter Inc.<br \/>\n        TWTR,<br \/>\n        <bg-quote field=\"percentchange\" format=\"0,000.00%\" channel=\"\/zigman2\/quotes\/203180645\/composite\" class=\"positive\">+0.38%<\/bg-quote><span>,<\/span><br \/>\n       Alphabet Inc.\u2019s<br \/>\n        GOOG,<br \/>\n        <bg-quote field=\"percentchange\" format=\"0,000.00%\" channel=\"\/zigman2\/quotes\/205453964\/composite\" class=\"positive\">+0.53%<\/bg-quote><\/p>\n<p>        GOOGL,<br \/>\n        <bg-quote field=\"percentchange\" format=\"0,000.00%\" channel=\"\/zigman2\/quotes\/202490156\/lastsale\" class=\"positive\">+0.65%<\/bg-quote><br \/>\n       YouTube and TikTok faced grandstanding, adversarial senators in a committee hearing, Pinterest executives decided Wednesday to pivot from their previous talking point to take advantage of the problems those platforms publicly face with content moderation and toxicity. They plan to make the most of Pinterest\u2019s largely h<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>y online activities \u2014 users pinning photos of clothing, home renovation projects, cooking, <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/trip-and-travel\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"10\" title=\"Trip &amp; Travel\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">travel<\/a> plans and more \u2014 in marketing, which they plan to increase this year.<\/p>\n<p><strong>More from Therese: Pinterest\u2019s new CEO faces rough road in getting users to buy instead of just pinning<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Executives also inferred that Pinterest offers users more privacy, another bane of the existence of those other social networks. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have first-party signals,\u201d Ready said. \u201cWe don\u2019t need to track users around the internet to know what they are interested in.\u201d  <\/p>\n<p>Ready and Pinterest\u2019s chief financial officer, Todd Morgenfeld, noted that since last year, when Pinterest and a few other companies were getting hit by Apple Inc.\u2019s<br \/>\n        AAPL,<br \/>\n        <bg-quote field=\"percentchange\" format=\"0,000.00%\" channel=\"\/zigman2\/quotes\/202934861\/composite\" class=\"positive\">+0.96%<\/bg-quote><br \/>\n       privacy changes that blocked user tracking on iPhones, the company has been developing more ad and automation tools. \u201cWe have a lot of stuff we are still building,\u201d Morgenfeld said.<\/p>\n<p>Pinterest\u2019s long distaste for being bunched with those other services was deliberate, beginning with <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/fortune.com\/2015\/07\/13\/pinterest-ceo-ben-silbermann\/\" class=\"icon none\">a very public pronouncement by Silberman years ago<\/a>. At the time of the company\u2019s initial public offering in 2019, a Pinterest spokesperson called a MarketWatch staffer to argue that Pinterest should not be referred to as a social network \u2014 the company preferred its own concocted labels, such as \u201cvisual discovery engine.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Denying the reality of Pinterest\u2019s business model was not helpful, though, and Ready\u2019s willingness to slough off that propaganda and take advantage of a strong competitive position should be beneficial. It\u2019s pretty easy to be the \u201cfeel good\u201d social-media platform right now considering the competition, and Pinterest benefits with the steady feed it gives consumers that consists of simply images and video, with no place for other users to comment.<\/p>\n<p>Ready faces plenty of issues at Pinterest, which is struggling to add users and benefit more handsomely from their activities on the company\u2019s platform.
