noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thefader\/com\/artist\/kanye-west\">Kanye West<\/a> has been vocal lately in promoting his private Christian school, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/donda.org\/\">Donda Academy<\/a>, which opened last school year. The K\u201312, tuition-based institution\u2019s flagship location is in Simi Valley, California, but Ye has expressed plans to expand nationwide and to open universities as well. In a <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-features\/kanye-west-donda-academy-school-1234593961\/\">new report<\/a>, <i>Rolling Stone<\/i>\u2018s Cheyenne Roundtree attempted to look deeper into the school\u2019s machinations, and was told by two sources that parents are made to sign non-disclosure agreements before their children begin class there, though a consultant to the school reportedly referred to the agreements as \u201cinformal.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"\" style=\"padding-bottom: 20px; margin-top: 20px; text-align: left;\">\n<\/div>\n<p>            The academy\u2019s website declares its mission as \u201cprepar[ing] students to become the next generation of leaders, thinkers and innovators by providing them with a world-class education that includes a rigorous core curriculum, and an emphasis on sustainability, creativity, critical thinking and problem solving.\u201d Other stated goals are \u201cto provide the youth with the passion, purpose and spiritual foundations they need to thrive in tomorrow\u2019s world\u201d and \u201cto be a reflection of God\u2019s glory in the world.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>            On a typical day, according to the site, Donda students \u201clearn fundamentals, grow in their faith, and experience two enrichment classes,\u201d beginning with a full-school worship assembly and continuing with core classes (language arts, math, and <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/sciencee\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"5\" title=\"Science\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">science<\/a>); lunch and recess; and enrichment courses including world language, visual art, film, choir, and parkour.<\/p>\n<div class=\"\" style=\"padding-bottom: 20px; margin-top: 20px; text-align: left;\">\n<\/div>\n<p>            Beyond that, Donda Academy\u2019s website is opaque, and Roundtree\u2019s reporting shows the institution has worked to reveal as little information about itself as possiblem. Aside from the alleged NDA\u2019s, neither <i>Rolling Stone<\/i> nor a local paper, the <i><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.simivalleyacorn.com\/articles\/yes-new-school-remains-a-mystery\/\">Simi Valley Acorn<\/a><\/i>, was able to secure any interviews with school officials or parents of students, nor did they receive responses from Ye\u2019s representatives when they reached out with requests for comment. The FADER has also reached out to Ye\u2019s representation.<\/p>\n<p>            The school is still not accredited, according to the <i>RS<\/i> report, and was still hiring instructors when the current school year began. And Brianne Campbell \u2014 listed on Donda\u2019s website as its principal \u2014 is only 28 years old, has never worked in education, and only recently began a post-graduate degree, Roundtree reports.<\/p>\n<p>            Despite these potential red flags, those close to Ye insist he is serious about his educational vision.  \u201cI want to be emphatic that there\u2019s never been a time that Kanye West did not want to do this,\u201d longtime collaborator Malik Yusef El Shabazz Jones, who worked with Ye on Donda Academy\u2019s concept, told <i>Rolling Stone<\/i>. \u201cI think people don\u2019t understand the gravity of that.
