is our ongoing <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/watch-movies-tv-seriess\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"8\" title=\"Watch Movies &amp; TV Series\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">series<\/a>&lt;\/i&gt;&lt;em&gt;, where we delve into the latest Marvel shows, movies, trailers, and news stories to divine the franchise\u2019s future. In this entry, we recall the best moments from Lucasfilm\u2019s D23 Expo presentation that were not released to the public.&lt;\/em&gt;\n<\/code><\/pre>\n<hr\/>\n<p>Before the <strong>Lucasfilm<\/strong> presentation at the <strong>D23Expo<\/strong> began last week, a thought rumbled through the cynical shadows in my brain, \u201cWhat could <strong>Kathleen Kennedy<\/strong> possibly show us today that they didn\u2019t already announce at <strong><em>Star Wars<\/em> Celebration<\/strong>?\u201d And for the most part, the dark pessimist within was proven right.<\/p>\n<p>Lucasfilm did not make too many bold declarations at <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/d23expo.com\">D23<\/a>. No new movies. No new TV shows. We got some release dates, some posters, some production images, and some trailers. They look pretty rad, especially the <strong><em>Tales of the Jedi<\/em><\/strong> animated series, which will feature stories from various points along Ahsoka Tano\u2019s and Count Dooku\u2019s timelines. Young Qui-Gon Jinn, I am very much here for it.<\/p>\n<p>However, at <em>Star Wars<\/em> Celebration, they got a full <em>Tales of the Jedi<\/em> segment. Where was our D23 segment? Considering the show will hit Disney+ in its entirety on October 26th, it sure would have been nice to have seen something substantial.\u00a0Sad face.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_Mandalorian_Squad\"><\/span><em>The Mandalorian<\/em> Squad<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The Lucasfilm panel mostly underscored four properties: <strong><em>Andor<\/em><\/strong>, <strong><em>The Mandalorian<\/em><\/strong>, <em><strong>Willow<\/strong><\/em>, and <strong><em>Indiana Jones<\/em><\/strong>. Their day began with the <em>Rogue One<\/em> spin-off pumping us up for the event with a Rebellion sizzle reel. Imagine all the critical moments from Cassian Andor\u2019s cinematic debut\u00a0with a few sprinklings from <em>A New Hope<\/em>. Those careening their necks desperate to see shots from <em>Star Wars<\/em>: <em>Rebels<\/em> were left crestfallen.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Jon Favreau <\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Dave Filoni\u00a0<\/strong>came out for <em>The Mandalorian<\/em> and a little <em>Ahsoka<\/em> chatter. Most were hoping to catch a little Rosario Dawson footage, but no dice. The frames they showed from <em>Mandalorian<\/em> were primarily constructed from bits previously caught at <em>Star Wars Celebration<\/em> or in the current teaser. However, as was the case with Marvel Studios\u2019 big D23 showing, Lucasfilm\u2019s best bits were provided by the folks on the stage.<\/p>\n<p>From <em>The Mandalorian<\/em>, Favreau, Filoni, and the newly <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ointed Season 3 producer <strong>Rick Famuyiwa<\/strong>\u00a0invited the cast to join them. To the expected applause strolled <strong>Katee Sackhoff<\/strong>, <strong>Emily Swallow<\/strong>, <strong>Amy Sedaris<\/strong>, <strong>Giancarlo Esposito<\/strong>, and <strong>Pedro Pascal<\/strong>. Some of these folks had never stood before 7000 fans, and a giddiness came over them as they gazed into the crowd.<\/p>\n<p>The last time <em>The Mandalorian<\/em> presented at the D23 Expo, no one but those making the series had seen any footage. The reaction they received from the audience on Saturday was a genuine reverence for the show, and they all soaked it in. She had not gotten the memo that these things are supposed to be fluffy light showcases. Instead, she thoughtfully explored how she communicated her Armorer to the audience.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe had to find a language for these characters,\u201d she said. \u201cWe were all moving around in this new territory and these new sets. You\u2019re only seeing part of these characters. What emotions are [the audience] reading? It was a collaborative effort, and you learned that less is more.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Swallow eased into the thought. You could see something click behind her eyes. She wanted to share and let us know how she finally figured out her character and how a familial relationship became the key.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGrowing up,\u201d Swallow continued, \u201cmy father was a military man\u2026very kind, very loving, but the most frightening thing was when I\u2019d done something wrong, and I knew it. I would go talk to my dad, and I knew he was going to say something about it, and I was just waiting for him to say it. But he would say nothing at all, and he just looked at me. I was just waiting for him to say the thing, and that was the most terrifying thing of all. That was the thing that made me look inward and think \u2013 to have that self-reflection and think about what I needed to process\u2026that\u2019s the way the Armorer functions.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Amy Sedaris snuck in a joke about daddy issues, and Kathleen Kennedy seized the opportunity.\u00a0\u201cI can see you\u2019re making up for lost time for being silent,\u201d she said. \u201cLet\u2019s shift to Giancarlo.\u201d There was quiet laughter in response, but there was more silence than chuckling. This was Kathleen Kennedy\u2019s show, and she didn\u2019t have time for actorly contemplation.\u00a0It was quite a telling moment.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Paging_Dr_Jones\"><\/span>Paging Dr. Jones<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Lucasfilm won their day by closing out the party with <em>Indiana Jones<\/em>. Director <strong>James Mangold<\/strong> came out first for a little set-up, but the hype didn\u2019t start until <strong>Phoebe Waller<\/strong>\u2013<strong>Bridge<\/strong> and <strong>Harrison Ford<\/strong> appeared arm-in-arm after a little sneak peek. At<em> Star Wars<\/em> Celebration, the <em>Indiana Jones<\/em> excitement centered around\u00a0<strong>John Williams<\/strong>, having just turned ninety, conducting a medley of <em>Star Wars<\/em> and Indy music. At the D23 Expo, Ford was the guy.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Jones is getting up there in age too. He\u2019s eighty and still willing to jump on a horse for us, but as he made it clear, he will not be falling off those beasts for us again. This <em>Indiana Jones<\/em> is the last <em>Indiana Jones<\/em>, at least with him wearing the fedora. But tell that to Peter Cushing, Carrie Fisher, and Mark Hamill. Their digital doubles are already well-worn, and based on what we saw in the <em>Indiana Jones<\/em> teaser; it\u2019s not hard to imagine a CGI Indy riding into the sunset over and over again for the next hundred years.<\/p>\n<p>The footage began with Sallah (<strong>John Rhys Davies<\/strong>) pleading with an unseen Indiana. \u201cI miss the desert,\u201d he says. \u201cI miss the sea. I miss waking up every morning wondering what wonderful adventure the new day will bring to us.\u201d Indy responds bluntly, \u201cThose days have come and gone.\u201d And Sallah is quick to respond, \u201cPerhaps. Perhaps not.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Indiana_Jones_and%E2%80%A6\"><\/span>Indiana Jones and\u2026?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The <em>Indiana Jones<\/em> trailer has everything you want except the rest of its title. <em>Indiana Jones and<\/em> WHAT? You can\u2019t <em>Scream 5<\/em> us here. You gotta give us more than<em> Indiana Jones<\/em>, even if it\u2019s got a Crystal Skull in it.<\/p>\n<p>We see Indiana racing across a train. We watch him charge through streets in a suit while atop a horse. We even get a plane versus a motorcycle and an Indiana Jones across multiple timelines requiring a digitally de-aged Harrison Ford. Still, not a hundred percent sold on that, but the rest got me going.<\/p>\n<p>People may have left the Lucasfilm D23 presentation wanting in terms of <em>Star Wars<\/em>, but no one left the hall unimpressed by <em>Indiana Jones<\/em> or Harrison Ford. The film looks a little funky, slightly askew from the visual aesthetic that Steven Speilberg always provided, but not in a bad way. James Mangold injects some serious speed into the frames, promising an Indy flick as we\u2019ve never had before. Those in attendance were totally open to it, and it was the perfect primer for the Marvel Studios panel that followed. When Kevin Feige appeared, he seemed a little nervous even.
