The clip soon caught the attention of Ellen, who invited the then-12-year-old onto <em>The Ellen DeGeneres Show<\/em>, later signed him to her <strong>eleveneleven<\/strong>, and connected him with managers<strong> Troy Carter<\/strong> and <strong>Guy Oseary<\/strong>, a booking agent at <strong>WME<\/strong>, AND publicists. While many people would have assumed this would be a dream come true for a young artist like Greyson, it actually turned out to be a nightmare for him.<\/p>\n<p>In a new interview with <em>Rolling Stone<\/em> published on Thursday, the 25-year-old opened up about his relationship with Ellen for the first time, claiming she had been an \u201cinsanely manipulative\u201d person behind the scenes for most of his career. Greyson told the outlet:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cI\u2019ve never met someone more manipulative, more self-centered and more blatantly opportunistic than her.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>Related: Rosie O\u2019Donnell Explains Her Longtime Feud With Ellen<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The musician claims once Ellen took hold of his career, she became almost like a \u201chidden eye\u201d and often \u201cbecame domineering and way too controlling\u201d about everything from his image to ditching entire performances when she didn\u2019t <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>rove:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cShe would come in and look at a rack, yell at stylists, berate people in front of me and say, \u2018This is what you\u2019re wearing on the show.\u2019 She was just degrading to people.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>On one occasion, Greyson remembered Ellen requesting an advanced copy of <strong>Justin Bieber<\/strong>\u2019s 2011 documentary <em>Never Say Never<\/em> for him to watch. But since he had been exhausted from his long working days, he didn\u2019t have the energy to view it at the time. Needless to say, she apparently felt disrespected by this. He alleges the daytime talk show host even went so far as to call his mother to berate her over the phone:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cI\u2019ll never forget this. I just remember hearing on the other side of the phone, just yelling [and] beratement: \u2018What type of mother are you? Do you realize that I went out of my way to get this for you, and he can\u2019t sit down and watch it?&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>According to him, things quickly continued to go downhill from there. When his 2012 album <em>Truth Be Told, Part 1<\/em> tanked, Greyson says Ellen became distant and \u201ccompletely abandoned\u201d him \u2013 leading his label and team assembled by the 64-year-old to also drop him. While he was still invited to appear on <em>The Ellen DeGeneres<\/em> show during that time, his experience left him feeling like his presence was wanted by Ellen:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cI couldn\u2019t get ahold of her. Couldn\u2019t talk to her. Whenever I would come on the show, it was such a fake smile. She wouldn\u2019t even ask, \u2018How are you doing? How are you holding up?\u2019 It was just like, \u2018Here\u2019s what we\u2019re going to talk about. We\u2019ll see you on there.&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Greyson wound up retiring from music before returning once again in 2019 to release his album <em>Portraits<\/em>. With the success from the record, he also returned to<em> The Ellen Show<\/em> to perform, but their interactions apparently remained awkward. Greyson told <em>Rolling Stone<\/em> it perplexed him how calm she had been despite their past, and he apparently didn\u2019t buy the praise she gave him for coming out. Perceiving the moment as \u201ccheap,\u201d he said:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cShe came out during soundcheck and she looked at me, hugged me\u201d \u2026 \u201cAnd she said, \u2018How have you been?\u2019 And that just killed me inside because I was like, \u2018What do you mean how have I f**king been? Where have you been?\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>While she may have been trying to move forward and repair past rifts, he felt something different:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201c[When I came out,] I hadn\u2019t spoken to her in years\u2026 That\u2019s so messed up, that you\u2019re now showing the world as if we\u2019re so tight. We\u2019re so good. And behind the scenes, you are this insanely manipulative person.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"One of Greyson Chance&#039;s Fans Inspired Him to Come Out\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/YNiAqI_GfVk?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>After that appearance, Greyson swore to never return to the show. And when they later reached out to have him come on as a guest during its final two weeks this March, he turned it down in order to protect his own \u201cintegrity.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As for how his mom feels? <strong>Lisa<\/strong>\u00a0told the mag:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cI think that Ellen is a businesswoman. And if something isn\u2019t trending the way she wants it to, she\u2019s going to put an end to it because it\u2019s business for her. It\u2019s not warm and fuzzy. I don\u2019t think she invited people to be a part of her life or take someone under their wing like she did if she didn\u2019t want to see something come of it. If it wasn\u2019t moving fast enough for her, that\u2019s when she started to shut down or shut us out.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Ellen has not yet responded to these allegations, but a source close to the talk show team told <em>People<\/em> she \u201cwent above and beyond to help set him up for success, but in business that doesn\u2019t always work out, and his career did not take off.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Of course, this is just the latest claim against Ellen after she was accused of creating a toxic work environment on the show\u2026 not to mention what\u2019s come to light about <strong>Anne Heche<\/strong>\u2018s feelings regarding their relationship\u2026<\/p>\n<p>Thoughts, Perezcious readers?
