On the day of the merge, Twitter user hashoveride tweeted: <\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">GPU <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/mining?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#mining<\/a> is dead less than 24 hours after the <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/merge?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#merge<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Here are the three largest <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/GPU?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#GPU<\/a> chains and current daily profitability with a 3090 GPU and 6 us\u00a2\/kwh<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/ETC?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#ETC<\/a> -7 \u00a2<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/XMR?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#XMR<\/a> -37 \u00a2<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/RVN?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#RVN<\/a> 2 \u00a2<\/p>\n<p>The only coins showing profit have no marketcap or liquidity. The profit is not real <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/btc?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#btc<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Hashoveride (\u20bfen Gagnon) (@hashoveride) <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashoveride\/status\/1570421233786945536?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">September 15, 2022<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><br \/>\nTwitter user BakaMoriDesu suggested in a tweet that ex-eth miners were just going to move on to the next profitable coin, adding, \u201cAs an RVN miner, I doubt it will be profitable after the halving anymore.\u201d <\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Ex-eth miners will move to whatever coin is more profitable. However, the <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/general\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"3\" title=\"General\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">general<\/a> consensus revealed that many were still unclear on their next steps. Former miner Christian Ander shared with Cointelegraph:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cTo be honest, I don\u2019t know myself yet. Selling GPU power to other computing intense services is far from as profitable as eth was.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>\u201cI am doing research myself and my partners are looking into options,\u201d Ander added, noting \u201cGPU owners are doing research and selling power to non-crypto projects. And when the energy prices are very high, they shut down and sell excessive power to the grid.\u201d Ander said that he\u2019s currently not mining any crypto, and is just evaluating the market. <\/p>\n<p>Another ex-Ethereum miner, Kevin Aguirre, shared with Cointelegraph that he had sold his hardware to his partner, who was now using it to mine other coins, noting:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cI do have some regret in my outcome with my mining machine, but in the end, it supported me and my family through the pandemic.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><template data-name=\"subscription_form\" data-type=\"markets_outlook\"><\/template><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<blockquote><p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">If you liked the article, do not forget to share it with your friends.
