the film\u2019s glam team had to carefully study \u201cThe Bible.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It was a 800-page anthology of photographs, magazine clippings and movie stills of the late Monroe, n\u00e9e Norma Jeane Mortenson, collated by the film\u2019s director Andrew Dominik.\u00a0He\u2019d spent the past decade collecting the reference images for his fictionalized take on the unglamorous life of pop culture\u2019s most archetypal glamor girl.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Now, after 10 years of development, Dominik\u2019s cinematic brainchild, based on the 2000 best seller of the same title by Joyce Carol Oates, is being rolled out on big and small screens by Brad Pitt\u2019s production company Plan B.\u00a0<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" \u2014 hair stylist Jaime Leigh McIntosh, makeup artist Tina Roesler Kerwin and costume designer Jennifer Johnson \u2014 while shooting in Los Angeles in 2019.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201c[The Bible] was incredibly massive, but helpful because it narrowed down the looks he wanted us to re-create,\u201d McIntosh told The Post. \u201cThe more I looked at those images of Marilyn, the more I realized I Out\u201d and 2021 James Bond flick \u201cNo Time to Die,\u201d both opposite Daniel Craig \u2014 into the 1950s bombshell was a daily, three-hour task.\u00a0(De Armas\u2019 casting initially sparked backlash owing to her ethnicity and accent; however, Monroe\u2019s estate <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2022\/08\/02\/marilyn-monroe-estate-defends-ana-de-armas-blonde-casting-amid-backlash\/\">publicly defended her portrayal<\/a>.)\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>But McIntosh looked to the \u201cgood book\u201d for guidance as she styled the five customized, human-hair wigs used to duplicate Monroe\u2019s lush locks. Two darker blonde wigs were used to portray a young Marilyn, while three \u201ctrue blonde wigs\u201d were used to portray the starlet in her heyday until her death from a barbiturate overdose on Aug. 4, 1962, at age 36.<\/p>\n<p>The units, each constructed with a lace base and costing around $9,000 apiece, were all specifically structured to resemble Monroe\u2019s widow\u2019s peaked-hairline and to properly fit de Armas\u2019 head.\u00a0McIntosh dyed the hairpieces to amplify their tones and add depth at the roots for a more authentic <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" pulling all of her hair back and adding a [protective] treatment to it to keep it nourished throughout the day,\u201d said McIntosh. \u201cThen, I\u2019d put a wig cap over her head before passing her along to Tina.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s when Roesler Kerwin would adjust de Armas\u2019 natural hairline by using three silicone prosthetics to replicate a flesh-like scalp that covered the majority of her head.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe prosthetics basically created a bald cap so that when the wigs went on, they\u2019d looked like they were going on top of skin,\u201d explained Roesler Kerwin. \u201cOnce they were in place, we\u2019d airbrush the whole thing [to match the color of her foundation].\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\"
