The New Orleans-born singer, songwriter, and producer teamed up with the northeastern multi-instrumentalist to announce the project and share its first four-song movement late last month. And today, they\u2019ve unveiled <i>Movement 2<\/i>, again as a four-track EP. The new release accompanies details of Richard\u2019s upcoming week-long residency with the Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music at NYU\u2019s Tisch School of the Arts \u2014 the first of its kind curated by the institution.<\/p>\n<div class=\"\" style=\"padding-bottom: 20px; margin-top: 20px; text-align: left;\">\n<\/div>\n<p>            The new tape is similar in tone to <i>Movement 1<\/i> and paced almost identically: Their opening instrumental tracks (\u201cCoral\u201d and \u201cSienna,\u201d respectively) are soft and tentative; their seconds (\u201cSandstone\u201d and \u201cCerulean\u201d) grow in confidence and contain impressionistic vocals from Richard; their thirds (\u201cIndigo\u201d and \u201cOpal\u201d) drop Richard\u2019s vocals again and return to the patient quietude of the EPs\u2019 beginnings; and their closers (\u201cVantablack\u201d and \u201cSaffron\u201d) come into their own \u2014 fully formed <i>songs<\/i>, each anchoring its own suite. (The full record is due out October 21 via Merge. Only its final three tracks \u2014 \u201cCrimson,\u201d \u201cCobalt,\u201d and \u201cUmber\u201d \u2014 remain unreleased.)<\/p>\n<p>            <i>Pigments<\/i> is a project that looks and sounds celestial with its color-<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">theme<\/a>d titles, ethereal tracks, and preternatural cover art, but is in fact deeply rooted in Richard\u2019s artistic community in New Orleans. On \u201cSaffron,\u201d Richard waits nearly two-and-a-half minutes before entering to sing a triumphant, echoing melody over a blur of plucked cello, weeping clarinets, haunted tenor saxophone, and swirling synths. \u201cCan you save your save me a last dance?\u201d she asks, her voice layering over itself as she repeats the line until the track finally fades out just left of the four-minute mark.<\/p>\n<p>            \u201cWhat would your last dance be?,\u201d Richard wonders in a statement accompanying the new tape\u2018s release. \u201cIn all my struggles and pain, beauty, ugliness, and everything in between, all I\u2019ve ever known is to dance through it all.
