However, Windows 11\u2019s 2022 update goes a long way to alleviating a lot of those gripes.<\/p>\n<h2 role=\"heading\" aria-level=\"2\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_2022_Update_Makes_Windows_11_Less_Annoying\"><\/span>The 2022 Update Makes Windows 11 Less Annoying<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Windows 11 brought a new visual aesthetic to Windows and with it, a serious overhaul of most of the user interface. Generally speaking, the changes were for the better \u2014 the Settings menu especially benefited from the changes. The size of the section seriously limited the number of pinned <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>lications you could have attached to the Start Menu. There is now a Start Menu customization page in the Personalization window that lets you choose the size of the Recommendation section, though you can\u2019t remove it entirely.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"admonishment_note\"><p><strong>Note:<\/strong> It can be accessed via Settings &gt; Personalization &gt; Start, or by right-clicking the Start Menu.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-834957\" data-pagespeed-lazy-src=\"https:\/\/www.howtogeek.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/start-menu.png?trim=1,1&amp;bg-color=000&amp;pad=1,1\" alt=\"The new Start settings page. You can once again group pinned items according to your preference. You can even name the groups, and the title will be displayed just underneath it. Now you can happily drag an image from a folder onto the Photoshop icon to import the image again.<\/p>\n<h2 role=\"heading\" aria-level=\"2\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Windows_11_Offers_More_and_More_New_Features\"><\/span>Windows 11 Offers More and More New Features<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The Windows 11 2022 update brought a whole slew of cool new features to Windows 11, like:<\/p>\n<p>The major updates notwithstanding, Windows 11 has generally received a continuous stream of new features that Windows 10 has not.<\/p>\n<p>The new File Explorer due in October is just one example of a major feature release that Windows 10 will not receive. Windows Subsystem for Linux \u2014 a great tool if you have to use Windows but regularly need to do some light-duty Linux work \u2014 has received several big updates, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/click.linksynergy.com\/deeplink?id=2QzUaswX1as&amp;mid=24542&amp;u1=htg\/834667|xid:{xid}&amp;murl=https%3A%2F%2Flearn.microsoft.com%2Fen-us%2Fwindows%2Fwsl%2Ftutorials%2Fgui-apps&amp;___trxnet=ls\">including GUI support.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Windows 11 supports Android apps via the Windows Subsystem for Android, and Microsoft recently <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/blogs.windows.com\/windowsexperience\/2022\/09\/20\/more-content-and-new-developer-opportunities-in-the-microsoft-store\/\">made the feature available in dozens of new countries<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>And those are just a few examples \u2014 the discrepancy has grown steadily since Windows 11\u2019s release.<\/p>\n<h2 role=\"heading\" aria-level=\"2\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Is_It_Time_to_Switch_from_Windows_10_to_Windows_11\"><\/span>Is It Time to Switch from Windows 10 to Windows 11?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>NVIDIA, AMD, and Intel are all releasing brand new hardware in the last few months of 2022 or early 2023. We\u2019re getting new GPUs from both AMD and NVIDIA, new CPUs from both AMD and Intel, plus a glut of <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/redirect.viglink.com\/?key=204a528a336ede4177fff0d84a044482&amp;u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.amd.com%2Fen%2Fchipsets%2Fam5&amp;cuid=xid:{xid}&amp;___trxnet=vg\">motherboards<\/a> to go with them.<\/p>\n<p>The new round of CPUs and motherboards is especially important when it comes to updating to Windows 11 \u2014 all of AMD\u2019s and Intel\u2019s new offerings will have both TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot , which were the major sticking points for most people. AMD and Intel don\u2019t expect to have nearly the supply issues with this release as they have in the past few years, so it should be fairly easy to upgrade your motherboard and CPU at a reasonable price.<\/p>\n<p>Windows 10 is also <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/click.linksynergy.com\/deeplink?id=2QzUaswX1as&amp;mid=24542&amp;u1=htg\/834667|xid:{xid}&amp;murl=https%3A%2F%2Flearn.microsoft.com%2Fen-us%2Flifecycle%2Fproducts%2Fwindows-10-home-and-pro&amp;___trxnet=ls\">rapidly approaching its retirement date<\/a>, and the growth of the feature gap between Windows 10 and Windows 11 is only likely to increase as we get closer to the October 2025 deadline.<\/p>\n<p>So, is it time to upgrade? When Windows 11 first came out, it was a pretty hard sell for most people. However, Microsoft has fixed most of the complaints people had about it, it doesn\u2019t hurt gaming performance, and it will continue to receive interesting new features for years.
