\n An Irish bar hosted a boozy brunch with an employee pouring shots into patrons\u2019 mouths in a wild scene that has been condemned by the country\u2019s prime minister as \u201cappalling.\u201d<\/p>\n

Scores of maskless customers are seen on video partying at the brunch event at Berlin D2 bar in Dublin on Saturday, the Irish Independent reported.<\/p>\n

In one of the clips, an employee is standing on the bar, pouring booze directly into the mouths of customers, as customers dance closely together in defiance of public health recommendations.<\/p>\n

Owner Jay Bourke dismissed the scene as \u201c20 seconds of madness\u201d at an otherwise compliant establishment, but added that he was \u201cdeeply mortified\u201d by the partying, the outlet reported.<\/p>\n

Prime Minister Micheal Martin took a dig at the packed crowd Tuesday as he announced tighter restrictions on the restaurant industry to prevent the spread of the virus.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is not just about the appalling behavior we saw in one Dublin bar at the weekend,\u201d Martin said, according to the outlet.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe evidence is that a large number of people are acting as if the virus is no threat to them, or that it\u2019s okay to take a few more risks,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

The new measures will include a mandatory closing time of 11:30 p.m. for restaurants and cafes, as well as pubs operating as restaurants.<\/p>\n

Police will also be given more power to enforce health rules, the Irish Independent said.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn cases where we have bars that are clearly just not obeying the same guidelines that the vast majority of the country obey, we are moving from recommendation and guidelines to enforcement powers and I think that\u2019s the right thing to do,\u201d Health Minister Stephen Donnelly said.<\/p>\n

Ireland has recorded at least 27,000 COVID-19 cases, including at least 1,700 deaths, according to the latest figures from Johns Hopkins University.\n <\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
