Prosecutors are claiming that Thugga (real name Jeffery Lamar William) was the mastermind of an organized street gang, with crimes ranging from murder to drug dealing.<\/p>\n<div class=\"mobile outerAdHatch\">\n<div class=\"ad-border\">\n<div class=\"innerAdHatch\" inserted=\"shortcode\">\n<div id=\"contentUnit200\" class=\"adUnits\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><script>\n                        if(isMobile){\n                            window.catalyst.cmd.push(\"loadAds\", [[\"incontent\", \"contentUnit200\", \"section_post_inarticle\"]]);\n                        }\n                    <\/script><br \/>\nOn Thursday (October 6), Willis filed a 10-page motion asking for a two-month delay in the trial.\u00a0According to <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.fox5atlanta.com\/news\/da-asks-for-delay-in-street-gang-case-against-ysl-rapper-young-thug\"><em>Fox 5 Atlanta<\/em><\/a>, the DA made the request due to more than a quarter of those indicted not yet having legal representation.<\/p>\n<p>The trial is due to begin on January 9, 2023, but Willis would like it postponed until March 27 to allow all defendants to get a lawyer.<\/p>\n<div class=\"mobile outerAdHatch\">\n<div class=\"ad-border\">\n<div class=\"innerAdHatch\" inserted=\"shortcode\">\n<div id=\"contentUnit300\" class=\"adUnits\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><script>\n                        if(isMobile){\n                            window.catalyst.cmd.push(\"loadAds\", [[\"incontent\", \"contentUnit300\", \"section_post_inarticle\"]]);\n                        }\n                    <\/script><br \/>\n\u201cA continuance to the final week in March would protect the speedy trial rights of those who have asserted those rights, while also ensuring that the additional eight defendants have properly prepared appointed counsel,\u201d Willis said in her motion.<\/p>\n<p>Elsewhere in the 10-page document, the DA requested the defendants all be tried together since they allegedly took part in the same conspiracy, and similar evidence is expected to be presented in each trial.<\/p>\n<div class=\"mobile outerAdHatch\">\n<div class=\"ad-border\">\n<div class=\"innerAdHatch\" inserted=\"shortcode\">\n<div id=\"contentUnit400\" class=\"adUnits\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><script>\n                        if(isMobile){\n                            window.catalyst.cmd.push(\"loadAds\", [[\"incontent\", \"contentUnit400\", \"section_post_inarticle\"]]);\n                        }\n                    <\/script><br \/>\nProsecutors said they were \u201cconcerned about the inconvenience and \u2018trauma\u2019 of repeated testimony of witnesses who were the victims of violent gang crimes.\u201d\u00a0A decision on whether to push the trial back is expected later this month.<\/p>\n<p>Lawyers for Young Thug and Gunna have denied the charges levied against their clients.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=V03gCA-GBW0\">https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=V03gCA-GBW0<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Young Thug recently asked a judge to toss out all \u201cinvoluntary\u201d statements he made when he was first placed in custody during the RICO case.<\/p>\n<p>According to new filings from Thugga\u2019s attorney Brian Steel, the two law enforcement officers who first interrogated his client in Dekalb County Jail never gave Thugga the opportunity to waive his Miranda rights before questioning him.<\/p>\n<p>Steel said his client was placed into an interrogation room by Cobb County investigator David Raissi and ATF Special Agent T. Cunningham without his counsel\u2019s permission, knowledge or consent, and demanded\u00a0Judge Ural Glanville discard any statements given by Thugga during that time.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile,\u00a0Kanye West has vowed to get Young Thug out from behind bars, even if he has to recruit his ex-wife Kim Kardashian to help him.<\/p>\n<p>In a recent screenshotted text exchange between Ye and A$AP Bari, the latter texted the former that, \u201cwe need to get Thugga out of jail.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJust sent this to Kim,\u201d Kanye replied.
