Beaudet that the case was resolved \u201cin principle\u201d earlier this week.<\/p>\n<div class=\"mobile outerAdHatch\">\n<div class=\"ad-border\">\n<div class=\"innerAdHatch\" inserted=\"shortcode\">\n<div id=\"contentUnit\u201c200\u201d\" class=\"adUnits\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><script>\n                        if(isMobile){\n                            window.catalyst.cmd.push(\"loadAds\", [[\"incontent\", \"contentUnit\u201c200\u201d\", \"section_post_inarticle\"]]);\n                        }\n                    <\/script><br \/>\nLil Peep passed away following a drug overdose in 2017. His mother sued FAE over his death, claiming they, along with former manager Brian \u201cChase\u201d Ortega and tour manager Belinda Mercer, enabled her son\u2019s drug use and pushed him to perform when he was in no shape to do so.<\/p>\n<p>Womack is suing FAE for wrongful death, negligence and breach of contract. However, FAE denied any wrongdoing in a statement issued in 2019.<\/p>\n<div class=\"mobile outerAdHatch\">\n<div class=\"ad-border\">\n<div class=\"innerAdHatch\" inserted=\"shortcode\">\n<div id=\"contentUnit\u201c300\u201d\" class=\"adUnits\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><script>\n                        if(isMobile){\n                            window.catalyst.cmd.push(\"loadAds\", [[\"incontent\", \"contentUnit\u201c300\u201d\", \"section_post_inarticle\"]]);\n                        }\n                    <\/script><br \/>\n\u201cLil Peep\u2019s death from an accidental drug overdose was a terrible tragedy,\u201d FAE said. \u201cHowever, the claim that First Access Entertainment, any of its employees, or Chase Ortega, or anyone else under our auspices was somehow responsible for, complicit in, or contributed to his death is categorically untrue.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Peep\u2019s mother spoke to <em><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/pitchfork.com\/thepitch\/lil-peeps-mother-on-her-ongoing-legal-fight-i-want-justice-for-gus\/\">Pitchfork<\/a><\/em> about her son\u2019s case in 2021 explaining why she filed the lawsuit and what she hoped to accomplish with it in the first place.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf people are held accountable for their actions, I will feel that justice has been done,\u201d she said. \u201cYou learn to live with the pain, and you\u2019re a different person, because when your child dies, the person that you were dies, too.
