\n Democratic vice presidential nominee Kamala Harris will use her Democratic National Convention acceptance speech Wednesday evening to portray an America at a crossroads.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re at an inflection point. The constant chaos leaves adrift. The incompetence makes us feel afraid. The callousness makes us feel alone. It\u2019s a lot,\u201d Harris will say in the primetime address accepting her nomination as the vice presidential candidate. \u201cAnd here\u2019s the thing: We can do better and deserve so much more.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe must elect a president who will bring something different, something better, and do the important work,\u201d she continued. \u201cA president who will bring all of us together \u2014 Black, white, Latino, Asian, Indigenous \u2014 to achieve the future we collectively want. We must elect Joe Biden.\u201d<\/p>\n

Harris, a former California prosecutor turned senator, will also say that she and former vice president Biden will be able to mend a national unity fractured over the past four years.<\/p>\n

\u201c[I am] committed to the values she [my mother] taught me, to the word that teaches me to walk by faith, and not by sight, and to a vision passed on through generations of Americans \u2014 one that Joe Biden shares,\u201d she will say.<\/p>\n

\u201cA vision of our nation as a beloved community \u2014 where all are welcome, no matter what we look like, where we come from, or who we love. \u2026 A country where we look out for one another, where we rise and fall as one, where we face our challenges, and celebrate our triumphs. Together.\u201d<\/p>\n

That vision, Harris charges in the remarks, is one that President Trump has failed to live up to.<\/p>\n

\u201cToday, that country feels distant. Donald Trump\u2019s failure of leadership has cost lives and livelihoods,\u201d she will say. \u201cRight now, we have a president who turns our tragedies into political weapons.<\/p>\n

\u201cJoe will be a president who turns our challenges into purpose.\u201d\n <\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
