Select the Redact tool from the menu and click &#8220;OK&#8221; in the warning pop-up. Drag your cursor through the text or other item to censor it.<\/p>\n<p>Maybe you have a contract you want to share without all the particulars. Or you might have a <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">social<\/a> security number, health information, or something else you want to censor in the PDF you\u2019re sharing. Mask the details and feel secure that your information is safe using Mac Preview\u2019s redaction tool.<\/p>\n<h2 role=\"heading\" aria-level=\"2\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Redact_a_PDF_in_Preview_on_Mac\"><\/span>Redact a PDF in Preview on Mac<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>If Preview is the default viewer for PDFs on your Mac, you can simply double-click the file to open it in the <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>If not, press Control on your keyboard and click the PDF. Keep this in mind after you finish using it.<\/p>\n<p>Next, you\u2019ll see a warning message letting you know that the content you redact is erased when you close the PDF as described earlier. So, if you want to white out a PDF instead of blacking it out, this isn\u2019t currently a feature of the tool.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>When you finish masking the content in your document, return to the Tools menu and pick \u201cText Selection\u201d or another option. Alternatively, choose your next tool from the Markup toolbar.<\/p>\n<p>The next time you want to black out part of a PDF, remember that the Preview app has a built-in tool to help.
