Fidelity to beef up crypto unit by another 25% with 100 new hires &#8220;<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h1>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/images.cointelegraph.com\/images\/840_aHR0cHM6Ly9zMy5jb2ludGVsZWdyYXBoLmNvbS91cGxvYWRzLzIwMjItMTAvYzQzZGM3NjktZGQ1NC00NzIyLWEyMzMtZDkyNDcxMDI0MjAwLmpwZw==.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<div class=\"post-content\" data-v-4b69a2fe>$4.5 trillion asset management firm Fidelity Investments is reportedly set to hire another 100 people to bolster the firm&#8217;s growing digital assets division \u2014 a stark contrast to the recent squeezing out of crypto-talent.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>A Fidelity representative <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2022-10-21\/fidelity-investments-crypto-unit-to-add-another-100-employees?utm_content=crypto&amp;utm_campaign=socialflow-organic&amp;utm_source=twitter&amp;utm_medium=social&amp;leadSource=uverify%20wall\">told<\/a> Bloomberg on Oct. 22 that the firm has begun a new round of hiring which will bring the Fidelity Digital Asset\u2019s headcount to around 500 by the end of the first quarter of 2023. <\/p>\n<p>A <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/jobs.fidelity.com\/job-search-results\/?keyword=digital%20assets\">search<\/a> on Fidelity\u2019s job board currently shows 74 live results for digital asset-related positions, which cover areas relating to blockchain <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/technology\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"4\" title=\"Technology\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">technology<\/a>, business analysis, customer service, finance and accounting, product development, and corporate services including compliance.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Almost all of the current listings are based in the United States \u2014 with the majority coming from its Boston headquarters, New York, Texas Colorado and Utah.<\/p>\n<p>The spokesperson told Bloomberg that the new roles would be situated throughout the U.S., U.K. and Ireland.<\/p>\n<p>Fidelity\u2019s hiring spree comes as BlockFi, Coinbase, Gemini and Crypto.com were among some of the largest crypto-native firms to lay off a spree of employees, having cut 20%, 18%, and 10% respectively. <\/p>\n<p>The large layoffs <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ear to have opened a fresh supply of crypto talent for traditional firms like Fidelity to take on board. <\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Related: <\/em><\/strong><strong><em>Fidelity\u2019s crypto ambitions are bigger than expected: report<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The digital asset team expansion should be of little surprise given how gung-ho Fidelity has been to\u00a0offer more comprehensive digital asset-related services amid growing investor interest.<\/p>\n<p>A Fidelity spokesperson recently confirmed to Cointelegraph that they will be offering ETH custody and trading services to its institutional clients from Oct. 28, 2022. <\/p>\n<p>In September, industry participants hinted the firm may soon \u201cshift\u201d into offering Bitcoin trading services to its 34 million retail customers.<\/p>\n<p>The firm did not confirm the speculation at the time, only noting that \u201cexpanding our offerings to enable broader access to digital assets remains an area of focus.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The firm has already launched a service that enables its 401(k) retirement saving account holders to invest directly into Bitcoin (BTC).<\/p>\n<p>Cointelegraph reached out to Fidelity in regard to the firm&#8217;s expansion plans but did not receive an im<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">media<\/a>te response.<\/p>\n<p><template data-name=\"subscription_form\" data-type=\"crypto_biz\"><\/template><\/div>\n<blockquote><p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">If you liked the article, do not forget to share it with your friends.
