His father, Hugh, was a stage manager and later a personal assistant to Oscar-winning <em>Disraeli<\/em> actor George Arliss; his mother, Hettie, was a musical theater performer.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n    Whittaker studied acting at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art alongside Roger Moore, then <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>eared with Laurence Olivier and Ralph Richardson in a legendary 1945 stage production of <em>Oedipus Rex<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n    After service in the military, he acted for director Lewis Gilbert in the films <em>Cosh Boy<\/em> (1953), <em>The Sea Shall Not Have Them<\/em> (1954), <em>Reach for the Sky<\/em> (1956) and <em>Sink the Bismarck!<\/em> (1960).<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n    A painter and decorator on the side, he looked for an art department gig and was hired by John Boorman on <em>Having a Wild Weekend<\/em> (1965), starring The Dave Clark Five.
