(<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2022\/10\/snl-workers-form-union-1235158183\/\">Deadline<\/a> was the first to report the <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/news\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"2\" title=\"News\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">news<\/a>.) The workers, who belong to the NBC late-night show\u2019s film division, work on pretaped sketches for the show, rather than its live elements. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n    <em>THR <\/em>has reached out to NBC for comment. The Editors Guild doesn\u2019t represent any other workers on <em>SNL<\/em>, though several other unions, such as fellow IATSE Locals, SAG-AFTRA and the Directors Guild of America, have a presence on set.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n    It was unclear how large the bargaining unit is as of press time, as a different numbers of workers are brought on each week for the show\u2019s film unit. The number of newly unionized workers could be between 12 and 20 workers. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n    \u201cThis talented editorial crew works at breakneck speed under extraordinarily tight schedules in order to ensure\u00a0<em>Saturday Night Live<\/em>\u2018s timely satire makes it to the screen each week,\u201d Editors Guild second vice president Louis Bertini said in a statement. \u201cWe salute them for standing together to have a voice on the job. Behind the scenes and in front of the cameras, a slew of talented artists and craftspeople help to make\u00a0<em>SNL<\/em>\u00a0the cultural touchstone that it is, and much of that talent already enjoys the benefit of union contracts. We\u2019re glad that these editorial employees will now be joining\u00a0<em>SNL<\/em>\u2018s unionized workforce.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n    The Editors Guild has recently had some organizing wins in animation, forming unions at <em>BoJack Horseman<\/em>\u00a0studio ShadowMachine and <em>Paradise PD<\/em>\u00a0studio Bento Box Entertainment in the spring and summer.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n    Of the recent victory at<em> SNL<\/em>, Editors Guild president Alan Heim said, \u201cHaving a voice on the job isn\u2019t a laughing matter.\u00a0<em>SNL<\/em>\u00a0deserves its status as a legendary comedy <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/watch-movies-tv-seriess\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"8\" title=\"Watch Movies &amp; TV Series\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">series<\/a>, and the talented people who help make it deserve all the good things a union will bring.
