Go to the Data tab. Open the Outline drop-down menu and pick &#8220;Group.&#8221; Use the plus (+) and minus (-) buttons that <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ear to expand and collapse the group.<\/p>\n<p>If you organize a spreadsheet by columns, you may only want to work with specific columns at one time. In Microsoft Excel, you can group columns and expand and collapse them as you work. We\u2019ll show you how to do just that.<\/p>\n<p>Not only can you group columns in Excel, but you can also create subgroups or more than one group in the same sheet. This allows you to see only those columns you need while hiding or collapsing the others.<\/p>\n<h2 role=\"heading\" aria-level=\"2\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"How_to_Group_Columns_in_Excel\"><\/span>How to Group Columns in Excel<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>To <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.howtogeek.com\/755108\/how-to-group-and-ungroup-rows-and-columns-in-google-sheets\/\">group columns, you\u2019ll need the columns you want to group next to each other. You can\u2019t group nonadjacent columns.<\/p>\n<p><strong>RELATED:<\/strong> <strong><em>How to Group and Ungroup Rows and Columns in Google Sheets<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Select the columns you want to use by dragging your cursor through them. After you create a subgroup, you\u2019ll see another button labeled 3. This is because there is now another level.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-842552\" data-pagespeed-lazy-src=\"https:\/\/www.howtogeek.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/SubgroupNumber3-ExcelGroupColumns.png?trim=1,1&amp;bg-color=000&amp;pad=1,1\" alt=\"Button 3 for a subgroup of columns\" width=\"650\" height=\"167\" src=\"\/pagespeed_static\/1.JiBnMqyl6S.gif\" onload=\"pagespeed.lazyLoadImages.loadIfVisibleAndMaybeBeacon(this);\" onerror=\"this.onerror=null;pagespeed.lazyLoadImages.loadIfVisibleAndMaybeBeacon(this);\"\/><\/p>\n<p>You can still use the plus (+) and minus (-) sign buttons to expand and collapse each subgroup and group.
