Skyward finance exploit allegedly results in $3 million loss  &#8220;<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h1>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/images.cointelegraph.com\/images\/840_aHR0cHM6Ly9zMy5jb2ludGVsZWdyYXBoLmNvbS91cGxvYWRzLzIwMjItMTEvN2RiZjU0MTYtZTA2OC00NzIzLWE4NTItOWM5YTIzNzZkY2NlLmpwZw==.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<div class=\"post-content\" data-v-4b69a2fe>Skyward finance, an IDO platform enabling fair token distribution for projects on the NEAR Protocol, has reportedly been exploited for 1.1M NEAR tokens, worth an estimated $3 million USD at time of publication.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/news\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"2\" title=\"News\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">news<\/a> was shared on <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Twitter<\/a> by Aurora Lab&#8217;s community moderator Sanket Naikwadi, who stated that the exploit was first noticed by a member of the NEAR protocol community, who goes by the handle @Nearscout. <\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">The <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/skywardfinance?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@skywardfinance<\/a> was just exploited for ~1.1M <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/search?q=%24NEAR&amp;src=ctag&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">$NEAR<\/a> Tokens (Worth ~3M) . <\/p>\n<p>Thnx to <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/NearScout?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@NearScout<\/a> for noticing the treasury drain, he pinged me asking if something is wrong with skyward&#8230; TV Series\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">series<\/a> of tweets on the exploit, Ref finance \u2014 a community-led multi-purpose DeFi platform built on the NEAR Protocol \u2014 and the Skyward team have been notified of the drain. <\/p>\n<p>The exploiter reportedly initiated the drain by buying lots of skyward tokens on Ref Finance, and \u201cthen redeemed it through Treasury on Skyward Finance.\u201d, where they <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Blockchain analytics firm Chainalysis recentlylabeled October 2022 as \u201cthe biggest month in the biggest year ever for hacking activity.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>On Oct 12, Cointelegraph reported that $100 million worth of cryptocurrency was drained from Solana-based decentralized finance (DeFi) exchange Mango Markets, resulting in its token plunging by 52%.
