\n Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez continued her war of words with NBC on Thursday over a since-deleted tweet about her Democratic convention speech nominating Sen. Bernie Sanders \u2014 insisting it had left \u201cthousands\u201d of people bereft.<\/p>\n

The network issued a mea culpa in the early hours of Wednesday after someone on its social media<\/a> team blasted out a descript<\/a>ion of the New York lawmaker\u2019s speech in which she seconded the nomination of fellow socialist Sanders but failed to make any mention of the actual nominee, Joe Biden.<\/p>\n

NBC deleted the tweet with an editor\u2019s note explaining, \u201cThis tweet should have included more detail on the nominating process. \u2026 Ocasio-Cortez has previously endorsed Biden, & her speech was similar in length to other nominating speeches.\u201d<\/p>\n

But the clarification has not been enough for the Bronx-born congresswoman, and on Thursday she continued her pushback against NBC, accusing it of failing to apologize for the tweet, which she insisted had upset thousands of people.<\/p>\n

\u201cYes. NBC\u2019s misleading headline, which had thousands of people confused and angry, wasn\u2019t a mistake. It was clickbait. It wasn\u2019t just a tweet, either. It was repeated in other headlines & posts,\u201d Ocasio-Cortez wrote while retweeting a message of support from New York University journalism professor Jay Rosen.<\/p>\n

\u201c@NBCNews<\/a> still hasn\u2019t apologized. As stated here, this is on their entire news team,\u201d she continued.<\/p>\n

The offending tweet, which included a link to the network\u2019s coverage, read, \u201cIn one of the shortest speeches of the DNC, Rep. Ocasio-Cortez did not endorse Joe Biden.\u201d<\/p>\n

During a 96-second convention speech Tuesday night, the New York lawmaker seconded the nomination of Sanders in a procedural move \u2014 while making no mention of Biden.<\/p>\n

The congresswoman also spent Wednesday roasting the left-leaning network, saying its description of the speech was \u201cmalicious and misleading.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cYou waited several hours to correct your obvious and blatantly misleading tweet,\u201d\u00a0she wrote in a retweet of the NBC editor\u2019s note.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt sparked an enormous amount of hatred and vitriol, & now the misinfo you created is circulating on other networks. All to generate hate-clicks from a pre-recorded, routine procedural motion,\u201d she continued.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is completely unacceptable, disappointing, and appalling. The DNC shared the procedural purpose of my remarks to media WELL in advance,\u201d\u00a0she tweeted shortly after, insisting the network repair the damage she had reportedly endured.<\/p>\n

\u201c@NBC knew what was going to happen & that it was routine. How does a headline that malicious & misleading happen w\/ that prior knowledge?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cHow are you going to fix the incredible amount of damage and misinformation that you are now responsible for?\u201d she wrote.<\/p>\n

\u201cBecause a 1:15am tweet to slip under the radar after blowing up a totally false and divisive narrative across networks isn\u2019t it.\u201d<\/p>\n

The self-described Democratic socialist grudgingly endorsed Biden in April after Sanders pulled the plug on his White House bid.\n <\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
