And as\u00a0<em>9to5Mac<\/em> notes, you can\u2019t stream a Netflix with Ads membership on an Apple TV box. At least, not yet.<\/p>\n<p>This odd discrepancy is mentioned in Netflix\u2019s\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/redirect.viglink.com\/?key=204a528a336ede4177fff0d84a044482&amp;u=https%3A%2F%2Fhelp.netflix.com%2Fen%2Fnode%2F127864&amp;cuid=xid:{xid}&amp;___trxnet=vg\">Help Center<\/a>. However, Netflix hasn\u2019t explained why its ad-supported plan doesn\u2019t work on Apple TV. Our best guess is that Apple is to blame\u2014maybe it wants a cut of ad revenue, or maybe it refuses to certify an app update. You know, typical Apple stuff.<\/p>\n<p>Anyway, shortly after\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/9to5mac.com\/2022\/11\/03\/netflix-with-ads-apple-tv\/\"><em>9to5Mac<\/em><\/a> published its story, Netflix reached out to clarify that its ad-support plan will work on Apple TV \u201csoon.\u201d I should also mention that Netflix with Ads works on iPhones and iPads running iOS\/iPadOS 15 or later.<\/p>\n<p>In case you missed it, Netflix\u2019s excessive price hikes bit back earlier this year. The company lost a large number of subscribers (along with some market value). The new ad-supported plan, which costs $7 a month is supposed to solve this problem and reduce the impact of future price hikes.<\/p>\n<p>While Netflix with Ads won\u2019t pester you too much (it promises four minutes of ads per hour of streaming), it caps resolution at 720p and offers a limited number of shows and movies.
