On the podcast, the 41-year-old insisted the word \u201cdifficult,\u201d something she\u2019s also been called a lot, is merely used to \u201cgaslight\u201d strong women, just like the \u201cB-word.\u201d Noting how the derogatory label tends to be given to a \u201cspecific type of woman,\u201d <strong>Prince Harry<\/strong>\u2019s wife shared:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cWhat these people are implying when they use that very charged word, is that this woman: \u2018Oh, she\u2019s difficult.\u2019 Which is really just a euphemism or is probably not even a euphemism. It\u2019s really a code word for the B-word.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Seems like she\u2019s speaking from first-hand experience!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Related: Prince Harry Decided NOT To Change Memoir After Queen Died<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If you didn\u2019t know, Meghan has been referred to as \u201cDuchess Difficult\u201d since 2018 when royal rumors about her \u201cdictatorial\u201d behavior hit the internet, per <em>The Sun<\/em>. At the time, one of her reportedly negative habits included sending emails at 5 a.m., leading an aide to quit! The unfortunate nickname was first reported in the <em>Daily Express<\/em> when royal correspondent <strong>Richard Palmer<\/strong> claimed the <em>Suits<\/em> alum was \u201cregarded as difficult and demanding by some in the family and on the staff.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It wasn\u2019t long until other negative accusations popped up in the headlines \u2014 such as the claims she left <strong>Princess Catherine<\/strong> AKA <strong>Kate Middleton<\/strong> in tears over demands about <strong>Princess Charlotte<\/strong>\u2019s bridesmaids\u2019 dress ahead of her wedding. A matter of contention they are still arguing about\u2026<\/p>\n<p>Interestingly, \u201cDuchess Difficult\u201d is not the only nickname she has earned in the royal family. According to royal expert<strong> Katie Nicholl<\/strong>, <strong>King Charles III<\/strong> also calls his daughter-in-law \u201ctungsten.\u201d As in a <em>hard<\/em> grey metal \u2014 which isn\u2019t even considered precious. The author explained in her book <em>The New Royals<\/em> via <em>ET<\/em> last month:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cCharles reportedly nicknamed his future daughter-in-law \u2018Tungsten\u2019 because of her toughness and resilience.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Huh. We cannot imagine she likes being called \u201ctungsten\u201d any more than she likes \u201cDuchess Difficult,\u201d even if the reasoning behind the name is not as shady as it sounds.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Related: Howie Mandel Finally Addresses Meghan Markle\u2019s <em>Deal Or No Deal<\/em> Comments<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>While the word \u201cdifficult\u201d used to haunt her in the past, she has learned to reframe how she thinks of the term thanks to a friend\u2019s piece of advice. Meghan continued on the podcast:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cMy friend said to me, there\u2019s a certain point when you come to terms with the fact that not everyone is going to like you. The goal can\u2019t be for everyone to like you, but the goal can be for them to respect you.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Hmm. Respect is equally as hard to earn sometimes, especially if you\u2019ve already been blasted as difficult, but it\u2019s a good goal to have! These comments come after Meghan already slammed the word \u201cdifficult\u201d in an episode of her podcast last month, arguing being \u201cparticular\u201d doesn\u2019t mean you are difficult. She said at the time:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cIt does not make you demanding, it does not make you difficult. It makes you clear.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Later on in this week\u2019s chat, while speaking to Mellody, who is the chairwoman of <strong>Starbucks<\/strong>, Meghan also had a revelation about how she wanted to change her parenting style. The businesswoman revealed when she was just 12 she had \u201chorrible teeth\u201d and decided to take herself to the orthodontist. Meghan was so inspired by Mellody\u2019s self-sufficiency, she realized she might need to change things up with her kids, <strong>Archie<\/strong>, 3, and <strong>Lilibet<\/strong>, 1, saying:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cI have to rethink my parenting style because if that is, if that\u2019s what yields you, I\u2019ve really gotta up my <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/game\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"7\" title=\"Game\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">game<\/a> with our kids being self-sufficient.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>TBH, we don\u2019t know many kids who would self-select to go to the dentist either.
