Raphael Warnock is\u00a0headed to a runoff\u00a0that could determine control of the Senate once again.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n    \u201cI\u2019ll be advising him that he move his announcement until after the Georgia runoff,\u201d said former Trump adviser Jason Miller, who spent the night with the former president at his Mar-a-Lago club in Florida. \u201cGeorgia needs to be the focus of every Republican in the country right now,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n    Trump sought to use the midterms as an opportunity to prove his enduring political influence after losing the White House in 2020. He endorsed more than 330 candidates in races up and down the ballot, often elevating inexperienced and deeply flawed candidates. He reveled in their primary victories. But many of their positions, including echoing Trump\u2019s lies about a stolen 2020 election and embracing hardline views on abortion, were out of step with the political mainstream.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n    Trump did notch some big wins Tuesday, particularly in Ohio, where his pick for the Senate, \u201cHillbilly Elegy\u201d author JD Vance,\u00a0sailed to easy victory\u00a0after Trump\u2019s endorsement catapulted him to the front of a crowded primary pack. In North Carolina, Rep. Ted Budd, an early Trump pick,\u00a0kept an open Senate seat in GOP hands.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n    But Trump lost some of the night\u2019s biggest prizes, particularly in Pennsylvania, where Dr. Mehmet Oz, who only narrowly won his Senate primary with Trump\u2019s backing,\u00a0lost to Democrat John Fetterman. Trump-backed candidates also lost governors\u2019 races in Pennsylvania, Michigan and Maryland, and a Senate race in New Hampshire, though Trump seemed to celebrate the latter, bashing Republican Dan Bolduc for trying to moderate his stances by backing off his embrace of Trump\u2019s election lies.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n    \u201cHad he stayed strong and true, he would have won, easily,\u201d Trump said on his <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">social media<\/a> network. \u201cLessons Learned!!!\u201d (Trump also cheered the loss of\u00a0Colorado Republican Senate hopeful Joe O\u2019Dea, who had said he thought it was time for the party to move on from Trump.)<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n    Other high-stakes races in Arizona and Nevada remained too early to call.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n    Indeed, the Republicans\u2019 biggest victory of the night came in Florida, where Gov. Ron DeSantis\u00a0cruised to reelection, cementing his status as a rising national Republican star as he eyes his own potential 2024 run.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n    \u201cI have only begun to fight,\u201d he\u00a0told supporters in his victory speech.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n    While Republicans still appear well positioned to flip the House, and could ultimately take the Senate, too, those who had believed frustrations with record inflation, combined with President Joe Biden\u2019s low approval ratings, would deliver swift and decisive victories were pointing fingers in the former president\u2019s direction. The night\u2019s message, they argued: The American people want to move on.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n    \u201cI mean, we had a historic opportunity and Trump\u2019s recruitment of unelectable candidates blew it for us,\u201d said Scott Reed, a veteran Republican strategist. \u201cTrump\u2019s now lost three elections in a row for the Republican Party and it\u2019s time to snap out of this foolishness.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n    Reed argued the party \u201chad everything going for us: money, the issue agenda, Biden being in the tank,\u201d but said Trump\u2019s efforts to keep himself in the spotlight by teasing a run in the race\u2019s final stretch \u201cobviously worked up a lot of independents and Democrats to turn out and vote.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n    Former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, a longtime Trump friend and adviser-turned-critic, who is considering his own run for president in 2024, said Republicans \u201chave a fundamental decision to make.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n    \u201cWe lost in \u201818. We lost in \u201820. We lost in \u201921 in Georgia. And now in \u201922 we\u2019re going to net lose governorships, we\u2019re not going to pick up the number of seats in the House that we thought and we may not win the Senate despite a president who has a 40% job approval,\u201d he said. \u201cThere\u2019s only one person to blame for that and that\u2019s Donald Trump.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n    He blamed Trump for elevating deeply flawed candidates, who won their primaries but struggled in the <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/general\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"3\" title=\"General\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">general<\/a> election.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n    \u2018The only animating factor (for him) in determining an endorsement is, \u2019Do you believe the 2020 election was stolen or don\u2019t you?&#8217;\u201d Christie said. \u201cIt\u2019s not, \u2018Can you raise money?\u2019 It\u2019s not, \u2018Do you have an articulatable vision for the future of your state or your district?\u2019 It\u2019s not evidence of past success in communicating to voters. It is a completely self-centered determination.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n    Trump, meanwhile, insisted publicly he was happy with the results.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n    \u201cWhile in certain ways yesterday\u2019s election was somewhat disappointing, from my personal standpoint it was a very big victory \u2013 219 WINS and 16 Losses in the General \u2013 Who has ever done better than that?\u201d he wrote on his Truth Social network Wednesday afternoon.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n    His spokesman Taylor Budowich also touted Trump\u2019s endorsement record, and said, \u201cAs President Trump looks to the future, he will continue to champion his America First agenda that won overwhelmingly at the ballot box last night.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n    But Republican strategist David Urban, a former Trump adviser, said the Trump brand is wounded no matter what the former president says.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n    \u201cOf course, he\u2019s going to claim victory, right? The president touts an accomplishment record that includes victories in uncontested races. He can say whatever he wants. But how do people feel in America? I think people feel not great about the Trump brand right now,\u201d Urban said. \u201cIt\u2019s bad.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n    Some now worry that if Trump goes forward with his planned announcement next week, he could pave the way for a rerun of Republicans\u2019 2021 losses in Georgia by dominating the race.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n    Former Trump press secretary Kayleigh McEnany, who now works for Fox <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/news\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"2\" title=\"News\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">News<\/a>, advised on air that Trump should hold off on an announcement until after the Georgia Senate runoff.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n    \u201cI think he needs to put it on pause,\u201d she said. Asked whether Trump should campaign in the state, she said: \u201cI think we\u2019ve got to make strategic calculations. Gov. DeSantis, I think he should be welcomed to the state, given what happened last night. You\u2019ve got to look at the realities on the ground.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n    Budowich did not respond to questions about such efforts, but Trump seemed to throw cold water on the advice.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n    \u201cWe had tremendous success,\u201d he\u00a0told Fox News Digital Wednesday. \u201cWhy would anything change?\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n    Trump\u2019s setbacks, meanwhile, were giving new hope to the long list of potential rivals who have been quietly waiting in the wings and now face the decision of whether to run, too.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n    That includes DeSantis, who emerged as the night\u2019s obvious winner. \u201cDeFUTURE,\u201d The New York Post declared. In addition to his wide margin of victory, DeSantis carried Democratic stronghold Miami-Dade, and did so without Trump\u2019s endorsement. (Though Trump did tell reporters he\u2019d voted for the governor days after insulting him as \u201cRon DeSanctimonious.\u201d)<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n    \u201cDeSantis comes out of the election with lot of momentum,\u201d said GOP strategist Alex Conant. \u201cTrump has been weak for a long time but it wasn\u2019t clear who the alternative was. \u2026 For the first time, Trump really has a formidable rival within the party.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n    Even some Democrats conceded DeSantis\u2019 strength.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n    Miami-based Democratic strategist Jose Parra said the Trump rival enters the 2024 conversation with \u201ca bunch of wind in his sails\u201d after stronger-than-expected performance across the state \u2014 especially in south Florida\u2019s Miami-Dade County.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n    Speaking at the White House on Wednesday, Biden said his \u201cintention\u201d is to run again.
