Amandla Stenberg, Lee Jung-jae, Manny Jacinto, Dafne Keen, Jodie Turner-Smith, Rebecca Henderson, Charlie Barnett, Dean-Charles Chapman, and Carrie-Anne Moss have been cast in the original series which is set in the final days of the High Republic era. Episodes are being filmed in the UK with Leslye Headland as creator and showrunner.<\/p>\n<p><span id=\"more-137130\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Disney+ revealed more about the series in a press release.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Disney+ announced the cast for \u201cThe Acolyte,\u201d an upcoming original Star Wars series from Lucasfilm. Joining the previously announced Amandla Stenberg (\u201cThe Hate U Give\u201d) are Emmy Award-winner Lee Jung-jae (\u201cSquid <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/game\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"7\" title=\"Game\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Game<\/a>\u201d), Manny Jacinto (\u201cNine Perfect Strangers\u201d), Dafne Keen (\u201cHis Dark Materials\u201d), Jodie Turner-Smith (\u201cQueen &amp; Slim\u201d), Rebecca Henderson (\u201cInventing Anna\u201d), Charlie Barnett (\u201cRussian Doll\u201d), Dean-Charles Chapman (\u201c1917\u201d) and Carrie-Anne Moss (\u201cThe Matrix\u201d).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Acolyte\u201d is a mystery-thriller that will take viewers into a galaxy of shadowy secrets and emerging dark-side powers in the final days of the High Republic era. A former Padawan reunites with her Jedi Master to investigate a series of crimes, but the forces they confront are more sinister than they ever anticipated.<\/p>\n<p>From creator, showrunner and executive producer Leslye Headland (\u201cRussian Doll\u201d), \u201cThe Acolyte\u201d has begun production in the U.K. The executive producers are Kathleen Kennedy, Simon Emanuel, Jeff F. King and Jason Micallef. Rayne Roberts and Damian Anderson are producing.
