Wow!<br \/>\n&#8220;<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h1>\n<div itemprop=\"articleBody\" class=\"text\">\n<div class=\"clear\"><\/div>\n<p>Momma, she\u2019s\u2026 a smaller girl now. <strong>Maddie Baillio<\/strong> revealed this week that she\u2019s lost over half her body weight!<\/p>\n<div style=\"min-height:120px;width:100%;float:none;\">\n<div id=\"section-636e12b9a70d5-paragraph-slot\" class=\"lazyload-unit\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Maddie went from complete unknown to in-demand actress after being cast in <strong>NBC<\/strong>\u2018s 2016 production of <em>Hairspray Live!<\/em> She had always \u201cbeen comfortable\u201d with her body \u2014 which was perfect for the lead role of Tracy Turnblad.\u00a0But while co-starring in 2020\u2019s\u00a0<em>Cinderella<\/em> with\u00a0<strong>Camila Cabello<\/strong>, she realized she was having some trouble physically. That\u2019s when her fitness journey began.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Mama, I&#039;m a Big Girl Now | Hairspray Live!\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/vmlpFXPf6d4?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<div class=\"clear\"><\/div>\n<p>She told <em>People<\/em> on Wednesday:<\/p>\n<div style=\"min-height:120px;width:100%;float:none;\">\n<div id=\"section-636e12b9a70db-paragraph-slot\" class=\"lazyload-unit\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cThere was a scene that didn\u2019t make it in the movie, where me and the other stepsister [Charlotte Spencer] led a group of like 300 girls \u2014 fantastic dancers, slender, they had it going on \u2014 down this 50-yard pathway to the castle singing <em>Single Ladies<\/em> and dancing. I couldn\u2019t keep up with the choreography. I kept losing my breath. We\u2019d have to start reshooting the scene over and over for me.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>She knew if she was going to keep slaying in musicals she was going to have to \u201cbuild stamina.\u201d So she took advantage of the months she suddenly have off due to COVID shutting down <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/watch-movies-tv-seriess\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"8\" title=\"Watch Movies &amp; TV Series\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">movies<\/a> and Broadway to get in shape. While staying back home in Texas, she says, she just started moving:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<div class=\"clear\"><\/div>\n<p>\u201cI had so much free time, so I thought I\u2019m just going to start walking. The sun was so good for my mental health and my physical health. I could walk for 30 minutes to an hour, and then the next week, it was a good two hours. So that\u2019s how it began for me.\u201d<\/p>\n<div style=\"min-height:120px;width:100%;float:none;\">\n<div id=\"section-636e12b9a70df-paragraph-slot\" class=\"lazyload-unit\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Over time she found it was having a real effect on her body beyond having more energy:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cI stepped on the scale, and that was inspiring to see that I had control over something \u2014 that I had control over my body.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<div class=\"clear\"><\/div>\n<p>So she took other steps \u2014 like cutting red meat from her diet, eventually going vegan. She also tried other workouts like hot yoga. Over the course of two years, she lost a whopping 150 lbs!<\/p>\n<div style=\"min-height:120px;width:100%;float:none;\">\n<div id=\"section-636e12b9a70e3-paragraph-slot\" class=\"lazyload-unit\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><strong>Related: Dan + Shay\u2019s Shay Mooney Explains 50 Lb Weight Loss In 5 Months<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The side effect of having all that extra energy? She was able to keep up with more than choreo:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<div class=\"clear\"><\/div>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019d go to West Hollywood, and I could dance forever throughout the night. Life became so much more fun when I had that physical stamina.\u201d<\/p>\n<div style=\"min-height:120px;width:100%;float:none;\">\n<div id=\"section-636e12b9a70e6-paragraph-slot\" class=\"lazyload-unit\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Not only that, she\u2019s also getting more opportunities!<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cI\u2019m inspired by the changing mentality. I wanna play my dream roles on Broadway that have nothing to do with my weight. And I definitely see it going that direction.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<div class=\"clear\"><\/div>\n<p>So great! But the journey wasn\u2019t without its struggles. Surprisingly, she says one of the things that bothered her most as she was losing weight was people cheering her on:<\/p>\n<div style=\"min-height:120px;width:100%;float:none;\">\n<div id=\"section-636e12b9a70ea-paragraph-slot\" class=\"lazyload-unit\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cWe have to feel good about ourselves. It can\u2019t come from outside sources. So it is a compliment when people tell me that I look good, but I refrain from commenting on people\u2019s physical <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>earance because I know that when I was struggling \u2014 when I was so hyper fixated on the number on the scale, and people were telling me that I was doing good and [to] keep going \u2014 that wasn\u2019t good for me. She tells the mag:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cLife is good. I\u2019m in a lovely, healthy relationship with myself and my body and my family and my partner\u2026 I\u2019m in a much more centered, grounded place.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<div class=\"clear\"><\/div>\n<p>She\u2019s knew Solomon\u00a0<em>way<\/em> before she was famous \u2014 it\u2019s a really sweet story! She recounts:<\/p>\n<div style=\"min-height:120px;width:100%;float:none;\">\n<div id=\"section-636e12b9a70f1-paragraph-slot\" class=\"lazyload-unit\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cI had a big crush on my partner in high school 10 years ago.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>After a decade they met again randomly and reconnected \u2014 and he was\u00a0<em>still<\/em> her dream guy! Not only is he \u201cthe most talented person I\u2019ve ever met,\u201d he was also good to her when others weren\u2019t!<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<div class=\"clear\"><\/div>\n<p>\u201cI was a plus-size girl in high school as well, and he was like one of the few boys who was just so kind to me.\u201d<\/p>\n<div style=\"min-height:120px;width:100%;float:none;\">\n<div id=\"section-636e12b9a70f4-paragraph-slot\" class=\"lazyload-unit\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Awww! She ended the interview by saying:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cI\u2019m so happy; we\u2019re so happy. Yeah, it\u2019s a really love-filled time in my life.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<div class=\"clear\"><\/div>\n<p>And we\u2019re so happy for her!
