Why does our trauma trigger applause?\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n    <em>The Jerusalem Post<\/em> <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Jerusalem_Post\/status\/1591759724403650561\">tweeted<\/a>: \u201cThe American comedian Dave Chappelle said during his SNL monologue that he \u2018denounces antisemitism in all its forms\u2019\u2026 before promptly engaging in antisemitic tropes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n    While <em>Time Out New York<\/em> theater editor and critic Adam Feldman tweeted: \u201cThat Dave Chappelle SNL monologue probably did more to normalize anti-Semitism than anything Kanye said. Everyone knows Kanye is nuts. Chappelle posits himself as a teller of difficult truths. It\u2019s worse.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n    Yet Tangle <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/news\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"2\" title=\"News\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">News<\/a> founder Isaac Saul <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Ike_Saul\/status\/1591853517173837824\">tweeted<\/a>: \u201cLet me be the first Jew to say: Dave Chappelle\u2019s SNL open last night was hilarious, timely, honest, and a reminder that he still understands this country better than a lot of people whose whole job is to understand the country. It\u2019s okay to acknowledge there are a lot of Jews in media and Hollywood. And like Dave said, you can simultaneously note that it\u2019s very stupid to think this means they are in some cabal controlling the world.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n    Chappelle\u2019s 15-minute monologue has racked up 3.2 million views in less than 24 hours on YouTube \u2013 more than any other <em>SNL<\/em> video since last May. It included comments such as Chappelle saying Ye broke \u201cthe show business rules of perception \u2026 if they\u2019re Black, then it\u2019s a gang. If they\u2019re Italian, it\u2019s a mob. But if they\u2019re Jewish, it\u2019s a coincidence and you should never speak about it.\u201d (For full context, the monologue is below).<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n    He added: \u201cI\u2019ve been to Hollywood \u2026 this is what I saw: It\u2019s a lot of Jews. Like, a lot. But that doesn\u2019t mean anything! There\u2019s a lot of Black people in Ferguson, Missouri. Doesn\u2019t mean they run the place.\u201d The comedian said he understood how somebody could \u201cadopt the delusion\u201d that Jewish people \u201crun show business \u2026 it\u2019s not a crazy thing to think. But it\u2019s a crazy thing to say out loud in a climate like this.\u201d <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n    Chappelle also discussed NBA star Kyrie Irving, who recently was suspended from the Brooklyn Nets after he shared a link to the documentary<em>\u00a0Hebrews to Negroes: Wake Up Black America<\/em>, a film that contains antisemitic sentiments. \u201cHe was slow to apologize,\u201d Chappelle said. \u201cAnd then the list of demands to get back in their good graces got longer and longer, and this is where I draw the line: I know the Jewish people have been through terrible things all over the world, but you can\u2019t blame that on black Americans.
