She was reportedly diagnosed with the health condition in August. Per <em>BBC<\/em>, the publicist revealed the disease \u201chas made it impossible to sing and not easy to speak,\u201d but left fans with some hope, saying:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cBut it will take a lot more than ALS to silence this icon.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<div class=\"clear\"><\/div>\n<p>The 85-year-old currently has \u201cplans to stay active in her musical and creative pursuits,\u201d including the release of <em>Roberta<\/em>, a documentary about her life that will premiere in New York next week, as well as plans to publish a children\u2019s book in January. This worrisome update is the latest health <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/news\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"2\" title=\"News\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">news<\/a> from the singer in a while.<\/p>\n<div style=\"min-height:120px;width:100%;float:none;\">\n<div id=\"section-63741f25b3c15-paragraph-slot\" class=\"lazyload-unit\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><strong>Related: Wendy Williams Hasn\u2019t Spoken To Her Son In Months Since Leaving Rehab?!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Back in 2018 while attending a benefit concert at the <strong>Apollo Theater<\/strong> in NYC, where she was set to receive a Lifetime Achievement Award from the <strong>Jazz Foundation of America<\/strong>, she was rushed to the hospital. Her rep later confirmed she had suffered a stroke a few years earlier and they wanted to make sure she was checked out by a professional, they said:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<div class=\"clear\"><\/div>\n<p>\u201cShe didn\u2019t feel well so it was best to take her to the hospital. She\u2019s doing fine but is being kept overnight for observation.\u201d<\/p>\n<div style=\"min-height:120px;width:100%;float:none;\">\n<div id=\"section-63741f25b3c19-paragraph-slot\" class=\"lazyload-unit\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Her management team added at the time:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cMs. Flack plans to stay active in her musical and creative pursuits. Her fortitude and joyful embrace of music that lifted her from modest circumstances to the international spotlight remain vibrant and inspired.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<div class=\"clear\"><\/div>\n<p>She was most recently photographed in Washington, D.C. in July while attending the<strong> BGR! Film Festival<\/strong>.
