Magazine<\/em>, the sitcom star discussed her decision to ditch the <strong>Hallmark Channel<\/strong> after essentially being their face of Christmas to partner up with its new competitor GAF. And she made this <em>wiiiiild<\/em> comment when explaining why the network will not be featuring any LGBTQ+ couples at this time:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<div class=\"clear\"><\/div>\n<p>\u201cI think that Great American Family will keep traditional marriage at the core.\u201d<\/p>\n<div style=\"min-height:120px;width:100%;float:none;\">\n<div id=\"section-6375716cab2c1-paragraph-slot\" class=\"lazyload-unit\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"highlight\">Ick.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Related: Emily Ratajkowski Doesn\u2019t \u2018Believe In Straight People\u2019<\/strong><\/p>\n<div class=\"clear\"><\/div>\n<p>Not helping the cause, the company\u2019s CEO <strong>Bill Abbott<\/strong> (who left Hallmark to create this new channel) added:<\/p>\n<div style=\"min-height:120px;width:100%;float:none;\">\n<div id=\"section-6375716cab2c7-paragraph-slot\" class=\"lazyload-unit\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s certainly the year 2022, so we\u2019re aware of the trends. There\u2019s no whiteboard that says, \u2018Yes, this\u2019 or \u2018No, we\u2019ll never go here.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The whole thing was just sad \u2014 and frankly, it\u2019s all very Scrooge-like behavior if you ask us! And it only gets worse\u2026<\/p>\n<div class=\"clear\"><\/div>\n<p>On Wednesday afternoon, the TV movie actress took to <strong>Instagram<\/strong> with a very lengthy statement addressing the intense backlash she\u2019s faced in light of her homophobic and exclusionary remark. And the girl was MAD AF! After captioning the text-only post with \u201cfrom the heart,\u201d Candy penned:<\/p>\n<div style=\"min-height:120px;width:100%;float:none;\">\n<div id=\"section-6375716cab2cc-paragraph-slot\" class=\"lazyload-unit\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cI would like to address my comments on Great American Family\u2019s programming as reported in \u2018The Wall Street Journal.\u2019 All of you who know me, know beyond question that I have great love and affection for all people. It absolutely breaks my heart that anyone would ever think I intentionally would want to offend and hurt anyone. It saddens me that the <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">media<\/a> is often seeking to divide us, even around a subject as comforting and merry as Christmas <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/watch-movies-tv-seriess\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"8\" title=\"Watch Movies &amp; TV Series\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">movies<\/a>. But, given the toxic climate in our culture right now, I shouldn\u2019t be surprised. We need Christmas more than ever. I am a devoted Christian. Which means that I believe that every human being bears the image of God. Because of that, I am called to love all people, and I do. If you know me, you know that I am a person who loves fiercely and indiscriminately. My heart yearns to build bridges and bring people one step closer to God, to love others well, and to simply be a reflection of God\u2019s huge love for all of us.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><em>Oookay<\/em>\u2026 She then turned the tables and tried to blame the mess on the press:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<div class=\"clear\"><\/div>\n<p>\u201cTo the members of the media responsible for using this opportunity to fan flames of conflict and hate, I have a simple message: I love you anyway. To those who hate what I value and who are attacking me online: I love you. To those who have tried to assassinate my character: I love you. To everyone reading this, of any race, creed, sexuality, or political party, including those who have tried to bully me with name-calling, I love you.\u201d<\/p>\n<div style=\"min-height:120px;width:100%;float:none;\">\n<div id=\"section-6375716cab2d1-paragraph-slot\" class=\"lazyload-unit\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>She says that, but when it comes to us being able to love who we want to love at Christmas, guess not??<\/p>\n<p>Btw, Christianity does not own marriage. Marriage was around long before the religion! Thank goodness at least one of the Tanner sisters (<strong>Jodie Sweetin<\/strong>) didn\u2019t grow up to be so cold to others\u2019 love!<\/p>\n<p>Also, this isn\u2019t the only time Candace has praised telling \u201ctraditional\u201d Christmas stories. Earlier this year when <em>Variety<\/em> asked her about her big move to GAF, she said:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<div class=\"clear\"><\/div>\n<p>\u201cThis year, we\u2019re absolutely focusing on Christmas. I\u2019m sure as the channel continues to build content, it will include other holidays, but I think we know the core audience and what they love is exactly how Bill originally built the Hallmark Channel and that was Christmas and those traditional holidays and so that\u2019s what the focus is going to be. You got to start somewhere. You can\u2019t do everything at once.\u201d<\/p>\n<div style=\"min-height:120px;width:100%;float:none;\">\n<div id=\"section-6375716cab2e5-paragraph-slot\" class=\"lazyload-unit\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"highlight\">\u201cThose traditional holidays?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This seems like a good time to also bring up how LOTS of Christian holidays are actually remakes of OTHER religions\u2019 holidays, too. So if you wanna get REALLY traditional about it, maybe you\u2019d see no one religion should claim ultimate authority!<\/p>\n<div class=\"clear\"><\/div>\n<p>Also, just because you don\u2019t celebrate Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, or any other holiday doesn\u2019t mean it isn\u2019t traditional.
