This evening, the Speaker monitored returns in the three remaining critical states,\u201d Pelosi\u2019s deputy chief of staff, Drew Hammill,<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Drew_Hammill\/status\/1593088408112738304?s=20&amp;t=jCXtQo-wfe_dzmWHoeYh3g\"> wrote in a tweet<\/a> late Wednesday. <\/p>\n<aside class=\"ad-unit ad-unit--mr1_ab\"><\/aside>\n<p>\u201cThe Speaker plans to address her future plans tomorrow to her colleagues,\u201d Hammill added. \u201cStay tuned.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A source told The Hill that Pelosi brought two versions of her speech home with her Wednesday night.<\/p>\n<p>Republicans were projected to regain majority control of the House for the first time since 2018 after The Associated Press called a race in California for incumbent Rep. Mike Garcia (R), giving the GOP a 218th seat in the lower chamber.<\/p>\n<p>Pelosi, 82, has been notably mum on her plans, deflecting questions about where the longtime Democratic leader sees herself in the caucus during the next Congress.<\/p>\n<p>During an interview with ABC\u2019s \u201cThis Week\u201d on Sunday, she said she was not commenting \u201cuntil this election is finished,\u201d but told CNN\u2019s \u201cState of the Union\u201d that her decision would \u201cof course\u201d come before Democrats are scheduled to hold leadership elections at the end of the month.<\/p>\n<p>The Speaker has not, however, hinted at what that decision includes.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"ad-unit ad-unit--mr2_ab\"><\/aside>\n<p>Pelosi made a promise to a group of her colleagues in 2018 that this year would be the last atop the Democratic caucus, but the party\u2019s unexpectedly strong showing in House races last week has raised questions about whether or not the Speaker, who became the first woman to hold the gavel, will follow through with her four-year-old pledge.<\/p>\n<p>She told CNN\u2019s Anderson Cooper in an interview last week that her choice would \u201cbe affected\u201d by the violent attack on her husband, Paul, at their San Francisco home late last month.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have to say my decision will be affected about what h<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ened the last week or two,\u201d Pelosi told Cooper just more than one week after the attack.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"ad-unit ad-unit--mr3_ab\"><\/aside>\n<p>Pressed on if her decision would be influenced by the assault, Pelosi said \u201cyes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>That statement, however, has left many wondering just how the brutal incident will affect her decision: will she leave her spot in leadership \u2014 or Congress altogether \u2014 to spend more time with her husband, or remain atop the caucus to show that political violence cannot put an end to her historic time in the Capitol?<\/p>\n<p>If Pelosi does bow out of House Democratic leadership, it would spark a seismic shakeup for the caucus and usher in a new slate of younger leaders who have been waiting in the wings for an opening. Rep.
