Steinbrenner of the Yankees and the Mets\u2019 Steve Cohen, communicated improperly regarding Aaron Judge\u2019s free agency, MLB commissioner Rob Manfred said Thursday he was \u201cconfident\u201d the teams did not violate the new collective bargaining agreement.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The investigation involves a Nov. 3 article by SNY that reported in part that, \u201cMets sources said that they did not plan to fight the Yankees this offseason for Judge.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It added Cohen and Steinbrenner \u201cenjoy a mutually respectful relationship, and do not expect to upend that with a high-profile bidding war.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>If true, the MLBPA believes it\u2019s a possible violation of the collective bargaining agreement, which states, \u201cClubs shall not act in concert with other Clubs,\u201d with regard to the dispersal of information on player contracts.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" request phone, text and email records of conversations between Cohen and Steinbrenner, as first reported by The Athletic.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking at the MLB owners\u2019 meetings at the league\u2019s headquarters in midtown, Manfred said the league would pursue the matter.<\/p>\n<p>Asked about the possibility of collusion among the owners less than a year after a new CBA, Manfred said he didn\u2019t believe it h<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; was a labor [lawyer] first and labor rule one is you want to make sure when you make an agreement, you live up to the agreement,\u201d Manfred said. \u201cI\u2019m absolutely confident that the clubs behaved in a way that was consistent with the agreement. This was based on [an internet] report.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He added the league was in the early part of the investigation.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe will put ourselves in a position to demonstrate credibly to the MLBPA that this is not an issue,\u201d Manfred said. \u201cI\u2019m sure that\u2019s gonna be the outcome.
