I\u2019m still waiting for a federal judge \u2014 an Obama <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ointee and former co-worker of Lightfoot \u2014 to restore my First Amendment rights.<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019ve been a credentialed journalist in Chicago for more than a decade. During that time, I\u2019ve covered political figures such as former Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel and Sen. Dick Durbin and, as a blogger for The Washington Times, I broke <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/opinion\/this-reporter-stands-by-story-on-demolition-of-ronald-reagans-chicago-home\">a viral story<\/a> about a rumored plan to demolish former President Ronald Reagan\u2019s Chicago home to make a parking lot for the Obama Presidential Library.<\/p>\n<p>My work for conservative outlets such as the Daily Caller has made me unpopular with Democratic leaders and the left-leaning press.<\/p>\n<p>But, lately, my combative exchanges with Mayor Lightfoot have grabbed extra attention, with many videos going <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=9FotqhkMBBQ\">viral and grabbing millions of views<\/a>.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\">\n<span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center; display: block;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"&#039;How Can You Possibly Even Consider Running For Re-Election... After All The Harm You&#039;ve Caused?&#039;\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/9FotqhkMBBQ?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/span>\n<\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<p>Over the past twelve months, amid a rise in violent crime across our city, I have asked Mayor Lightfoot questions such as, \u201cMany residents in Chicago feel that you\u2019ve lost control of the city. Now it appears as though you\u2019ve lost control of the Chicago City Council. Do you owe any apology to victims of violent crime in Chicago?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In April, I asked Lightfoot, \u201cWe have Michigan Avenue, the Magnificent Mile, now referred to as the Mile of Fear. The Water Tower Place has thrown the keys back to the lender, they say they don\u2019t want to be in Chicago anymore. Mayor Lightfoot\u2019s appointed Chicago Police Superintendent says it was because I allegedly bumped one of her security guards in the arm at a July 19 press conference. However, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/watch\/?v=737319350932719\">I have video<\/a> that shows that no \u201cbump\u201d occurred and that, in reality, Lightfoot\u2019s guard used excessive force to prevent me from asking her any questions on a public sidewalk from 20 feet away. <\/p>\n<p>A report was filed by Lightfoot\u2019s guard but, since there is no evidence of wrongdoing, Cook County State\u2019s Attorney Kim Foxx declined to file charges against me. But Chicagoans deserve answers to their questions. Lightfoot is using my lawsuit to create a dangerous legal precedent that allows her to oust a pesky journalist without due process of law and in violation of the First Amendment.<\/p>\n<p>As a native of Chicago\u2019s South Side, I grew up believing that Chicago was the greatest city in the history of the world. Even if that was once true, it isn\u2019t anymore. Lori Lightfoot doesn\u2019t want me asking her embarrassing questions while she is running for re-election, and perhaps her former co-worker has been assigned to the case to make sure of that.<\/p>\n<p>I am clearly not a danger to the mayor, but I am a danger to her bid for re-election.<\/p>\n<p><em>William J.
