And I just should have called. He should have called. We both should have called. But he\u2019s working, I\u2019m working, so it\u2019s, \u2018I\u2019ll see you when I see you.&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Bryant, his daughter, Gigi, and seven others died in a helicopter crash in California in January of 2020.<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_1-0-22\">\u201c[I thought], \u2018We\u2019re both going to get old. Call your brother. Call the homeboy you used to party with in college. Forever is a long time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>O\u2019Neal and Bryant won three NBA championships together on the Lakers. They had a notoriously strained relationship by the time they were done as teammates.
