It doesn\u2019t try to be the start of the show, and it never distracts from the phone\u2019s screen.<\/p>\n<p>However, I wouldn\u2019t mind seeing more than one finish option; I could see this charger looking just as good or even better in understated colors like black or dark blue. Rather than lift your phone off the charger, or carry a <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Apple-MHXH3AM-A-MagSafe-Charger\/dp\/B08L5NP6NG?tag=lsmedia-11758-20\">MagSafe puck<\/a> on the back of the phone as you bring it to your face, ESR\u2019s charger puts your phone in a position that shows you everything you need to know.<\/p>\n<p>I find it especially useful on a desk, giving me updates and reminders at a glance while I work away. Paired with the iPhone 14 Pro\u2019s Always-On Display, it\u2019s almost like adding another monitor to your desktop setup.<\/p>\n<p>There\u2019s also the added benefit of easy camera operation. In the event you want your phone\u2019s screen higher up or further down, you\u2019re out of luck. The only adjustability this stand offers is in removing the charging puck from the stand; you don\u2019t have many options otherwise, aside from the tried and true monitor method of boosting the stand with books.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, a wireless charger doesn\u2019t mean you\u2019re free of cords. In fact, I would call the HaloLock Shift\u2019s 5ft (1.5m) cord, which attaches to the bottom USB-C port of the charging puck, exceptionally long. This comes with its own set of pros and cons. But for most use cases, you\u2019ll have to find a way to stash the unsightly wire.<\/p>\n<p>Last on the design\u2019s cons list is the problem I ran into when trying to use this MagSafe charger with a phone case. Despite my <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/redirect.viglink.com\/?key=204a528a336ede4177fff0d84a044482&amp;u=https%3A%2F%2Fincipio.com%2Fproducts%2Fduo-for-magsafe-for-iphone-14-pro&amp;cuid=xid:{xid}&amp;___trxnet=vg\">Incipio iPhone 14 Pro<\/a> case stating its MagSafe compatibility, it just wouldn\u2019t stick. You\u2019d likely have better luck with an <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.apple.com\/shop\/accessories\/all\/magsafe\">official MagSafe case from Apple<\/a> (something ESR addresses in its <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/redirect.viglink.com\/?key=204a528a336ede4177fff0d84a044482&amp;u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.esrgear.com%2Fpress%2Fufaqs%2Fcan-i-use-a-third-party-magnetic-case-with-this-charger%2F&amp;cuid=xid:{xid}&amp;___trxnet=vg\">FAQ section<\/a>), but be warned that you may have to use this charger without a case if it\u2019s from a third-party retailer.<\/p>\n<p>All in all, I think the HaloLock Shift Wireless Charger brings a lot to the table design-wise. It puts my phone where it needs to be for easy notification reading and text answering, and I can always take the charging puck with me if the need arises. To take full advantage of the 18W speeds, you\u2019ll need a <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.howtogeek.com\/739300\/best-budget-android-phones\/\">compatible Android smartphone<\/a> and a <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.howtogeek.com\/774757\/how-to-use-iphone-magsafe-chargers-with-an-android-phone\/\">magnetic mount<\/a>.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>However, since you can set your iPhone on the HaloLock charger and forget about it, it keeps your iPhone near full charge all day long.
