This <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.consilium.europa.eu\/en\/press\/press-releases\/2022\/11\/15\/eu-budget-for-2023-council-and-parliament-reach-agreement\/\">was agreed<\/a> in negotiations with the European Parliament a week earlier.<\/p>\n<p>The two institutions have committed to a total budget of \u20ac186.6 billion next year \u2014 an increase of 1.1% compared to 2022.<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/commission\/presscorner\/detail\/en\/qanda_22_3474\">According to the Commission<\/a>, 2023\u2019s budget aims \u201cto boost the recovery from the coronavirus pandemic, to put Europe on the path towards a sustainable future, to protect and create jobs, and to strengthen the Union\u2019s strategic autonomy.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"inarticle-wrapper channel-cta\">\n<div class=\"ica-text\">\n<h4><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Join_TNW_in_Valencia\"><\/span>Join TNW in Valencia!<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n<p>The heart of tech is coming to the heart of the Mediterranean<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Notably, a significant amount of funding is being allocated to sectors that can benefit startups and SMEs operating in the <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/technology\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"4\" title=\"Technology\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">technology<\/a> and sustainability industry.<\/p>\n<p>Specifically, \u20ac3 billion will go to the <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/inea\/en\/connecting-europe-facility\">Connecting Europe Facility<\/a>, which supports the development of high-performing, sustainable, and efficiently interconnected trans-European networks in the fields of transport, energy, and digital services.<\/p>\n<p>A special focus will be given to the energy sector, corresponding with the Union\u2019s plan to reduce dependence on Russian gas and mitigate the energy crisis. The funding will complement the \u20ac20 billion of the <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/commission\/presscorner\/detail\/en\/IP_22_3131\">REPowerEU proposal<\/a>, which targets technologies for the diversification of energy supplies and the accelerated roll-out of renewable energy sources.<\/p>\n<p>Similarly, \u20ac1.5 billion will become available to the <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.europarl.europa.eu\/factsheets\/en\/sheet\/214\/just-transition-fund\">Just Transition Fund<\/a> \u2014 which supports investments in areas such as digital connectivity, clean energy technologies, the reduction of emissions, and the reskilling of workers \u2014 to ensure that the transition towards climate neutrality won\u2019t result in regional disparities.<\/p>\n<p>Some \u20ac755.5 million will also be allocated to the <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/cinea.ec.europa.eu\/programmes\/life_en\">LIFE program<\/a>, which, focusing on climate action, finances SMEs and startups to develop and commercialize clean tech solutions.<\/p>\n<p>The EU will also strengthen its research project, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/research-and-innovation.ec.europa.eu\/funding\/funding-opportunities\/funding-programmes-and-open-calls\/horizon-europe_en\">Horizon Europe<\/a>, with an additional \u20ac12.4 billion. The funding targets research areas including health, the digital industry, space, climate, energy, and mobility.<\/p>\n<p>Finally, there will be a \u20ac602.8 million investment to the <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/info\/funding-tenders\/find-funding\/eu-funding-programmes\/single-market-programme_en\">Single Market Program<\/a>, which supports and boosts the competitiveness of small- and medium-sized businesses across the Union.<\/p>\n<p>The final adoption of the budget will be declared by the European Parliament, once it has also <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>roved the joint commitments.
